On one occasion, I paid with a contactless card and the man at the till punched in £10 excess of my purchase on the POS. I was lucky to get an alert immediately and confronted him. He claimed it was a mistake. Ensure the amount punched in the POS matches your purchase if using a contactless card, else, you're safer paying cash. On another occasion, I purchased what was labelled Long grain American rice. Turned out to be fake plastic rice!!!
You get Idli - Idly & Dosa Batter here. The one stop Indian store in Guildford. They also have a variety of Rotis / Chappathis.
Meat service is pathetic! Asked for lamb and got sheep in same price, meat buthering was horrible. Three of the medium chicken were stinky and expired. £55 shopping waisted!!
They are sly in their pricing, a lot of items do not have the price displayed. They overcharge you, the receipt does not show you specific item, only labelled as “grocery”. When you have done a big shop you cannot account the cost of each item properly as you do not know what each item cost. I would ask how much each item is to avoid them overcharging you. It is a shame that they possess this unethical behaviour and are purposely avoiding being transparent with their prices so they can overcharge you. Other than that, it is a good ethnic grocery store stocking lots of items.
Wonderful local grocery, fresh produce and wonderful authentic nan and roti bread. A speciality market for the home chef with adventurous taste.
Our shop to go when we need to find African products. Yam, plantain, cassava, chin-chin, indomie noodles... Goat meat! Maggie, all kind of spices, chillies, and so much more! I love the place and it's family-owned and managed, which makes it an even better place.
Great choice of products, Asian, afro, Caribbean, Filipino, Thai, European, middle Eastern and a butchers! Can't go wrong. Forget Tesco's express and give these guys a go you won't be disappointed and you'll keep returning to buy more of these authentic products
Best store for ingredients and items for an international new to Guildford
All Indian and Asian food products available little pricey
I would not say anything negative about this shop-good selection of meat and spices ,very friendly owner ...but I was shocked on last Sunday when I came to buy the meat. The store owner should pay attention that the person in the meat department should use gloves or at least some plastic bag to protect the meat from his germs as he just came in from outside when he was working with fruits and veg , did not washed hands and straightaway cut my meat , pushed it into the meat grinder , snatched it out with his fingers , it was disgusting even to see this process. He reject to wear gloves when I asked him to to this and said- ok, next time when you come, I will wear them .And now I have to take this means .Really? It was very rude, unrespectful and unprofessional. We use this shop for long time but not anymore.
