Very nice Sunday lunch, large portions, prompt and very friendly service. Recommended.
This was our first visit with friends we hadn’t seen for ages. Pub environment appeared clean. Not a warm welcome. Staff not very friendly.Sunday roast was poor. Food was cold. Roast potatoes very small, rock hard and shrivelled up .the pork crackling was stone cold and Yorkshire pud was well and truly burnt but . Plates were too small to accommodate the meal. Small amounts of carrots and cabbage. Frozen peas were ok. Woopee Deserts were delicious but Sunday roast was really not worth the £14 price charged. So very Disappointing. Won’t be going back there.
Amazing pub with amazing food. The new owners have really brought life back to the place Vegetarian options: Veggie options available for almost every meal category Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome until late Parking: Huge car park
First time since it reopened the beef was lovely the staff were friendly
Lovely country village pub. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We had Sunday lunch and it was very good - a proper authentic roast dinner and reasonably priced. My parents have eaten there on a weekday too and have always liked it. I would recommend people to try this pub. I will be back
Excellent old fashioned pub. As in, how pubs used to be, and in a good way. I only had a beer, no food, but it was an excellent pint of Bateman's XB. Inside is a dining area, main bar, and a nice courtyard beer garden outside.
Had not been to the Ruddy Duck for over 10 years but decided to return due to the menu selections. Eight of us went for dinner on a 19.45hrs booking. Unfortunately the kitchen had run out of steaks which four of us would have had. However our second choices did not disappoint. I had the steak and ale pie with all the trimmings which was first class. Not one of our party was disappointed with their meal big plates, big portions which included starters, main course, pudding, tea's coffee and brandy's to finish. The lady behind the bar was delightfully friendly and helpful. The selection of beers was great, Bateman's XB, London Pride, Doombar. All in all a great return to a once regular eating establishment and one that we will return to on a regular basis.
The Ruddy Duck has to be the most consistent restaurant we visit, the food is always excellent and is quiet enough to normally get served quickly. The beer garden is also dog friendly so this is a summer bonus.Food: 5/5
I went with a friend on Sunday, she is vegetarian and the pub was not prepared for that, they only offered roast dinners. Most pubs nowadays offer more than roast dinners on a Sunday. We ended up moving on.
Had an evening meal ....food was lovely, staff very pleasant and the restaurant area is welcoming. Will definitely be back to try some more food and would recommend anyone to try it out too.
