Very easy to access. Good for family to spend a day here. Cafe is nice with plenty seats but there is improvement needed on the menu choice. The facility in children playground are getting dirty but still safe. Dog-friendliness: They have washing tubes for dogs.
We have walked around here a few times, and yes, the main area is clean ,tidy, and well maintained. We did feel the woods needed a bit of attention. The walkways were getting a bit unsafe in places and trees, etc. needed to be cut back.We didn't mind as it was a beautiful place to walk, and it wouldn't stop us from going back
It's a really beautiful, safe place! Amazing scenery and plenty for the kids to do. Beautiful little ride on railway, which is so inexpensive! Cafe/restaurant is nice but a bit pricey.
Always a great walk! Took the pup and he loves the walk and social interaction with other dogs. Peaceful setting along the grounds or a quaint beachside relaxation. The cemetery is quiet and beautiful, full of many people from all over.
Beautiful nature blends with the river next to it. Ideal place for a calm and quiet family time. Kids can run around freely. Beware of dogs as some people leave them freely roaming around, might be dangerous to vulnerable. Dog-friendliness: Yes but don’t let them free as it could pose danger to others. Picnic area: Awesome
It's always a lovely day out, parking charges are high, but good facilities and plenty of parking, busy after 10 so if your walking dogs I'd go early morning or it's filled with families with small children. Nice beach, good parks and an expensive cafe for food and drink bring your own!

The abundance of scenic pathways invites nature enthusiasts to explore the beauty of the surroundings. The park seamlessly blends natural serenity with rich history, boasting several noteworthy monuments that add a fascinating touch to the visit. The campsite provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, offering a peaceful retreat under the stars. Families will appreciate the thoughtfully designed playground, ensuring that younger visitors have their share of fun. With so much to see and experience, Royal Victoria Country Park is truly a gem. Whether you're seeking a tranquil stroll, historical immersion, or a family-friendly adventure, this park has it all. A visit here is highly recommended for a well-rounded and enjoyable day out.
A great place to visit. The grounds are lovely. A few nice cafes, good walks along the beach. Lots of activity on Southampton Water to watch and enjoy. A great little train ride @ £1.75 for adults! Plenty of space for everyone. The car park is quite pricey!! But can thoroughly recommend a visit to the Royal Victoria Country Park.
Visited the chapel which has great displays about the hospital and disease research done there. Lots of helpful guides. Enjoyed a free organ concert. The cafe is very good too.
They say it's free to visit this park, but don't be fooled, parking is hideously expensive. There are no concessions for Disabilities and it's extremely hard to navigate as a person with disabilities. I fell in an area which should have been accessible! I'm not denying it's an interesting place and a part of history, the grounds are beautiful, the chapel is informative. I was fortunate to attend a Candlelit concert of music by Vivaldi. The Chapel was perfect for it. However, clearly NOTHING was learnt by COVID here. The seating was so close together we were touching the person next to us entire side of their body. It was really uncomfortable. Not acceptable in this day and age. Staff are always friendly though. I would recommend, but just be aware even in the areas designed for walking, it's dangerous. Playground: There's a mini train, and extensive play area. Restrooms: Yes in the cafe, and Chapel. Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly, even have a dog bath and drying service. Picnic area: Plenty of picnic areas.
