I completed a DoctorLink assessment of my condition. This identified possible fracture of fibula or tibia and advised attending Urgent Care Centre "now". However , triage nurse refused to examine me because initiating event was more than two weeks ago!
I have been treated at RUH ED a few times over the years mainly for cycling accidents, they have always been great. On my last visit in summer 2021, I only had to wait 5 minutes to be seen. However I'd recommend taking care of yourselves and preferably not needing to come to ED :-
Visited on 05/09/21 . A female Nurse Practitioner was unnecessarily rude to people on several occasions . Disrespectful . Uncaring. Seemed like it was the last place she wanted to be. I have a total understanding of the stressful requirements of the job and it’s demands but c’mon no need for the abrupt manner and rudeness .
Came with son with broken arm, staff said don't worry about car, a few days later had letter to pay £80 fine. Great compassionate people everywhere.
very welcoming, positive and very efficient staff, I arrived due to a sinus infection, I received the treatment ,thank you to the emergency department and I wish you all the best .
AWFUL OUT OF HOUR GP , avoid at all costs and go straight to Bristol. Doctor diagnosed me with a chronic and incurable disease I was extremely dizzy within 3 minutes, no tests or check ups. He couldn't give me any info on the disease and told me to look it up online where I found out it was totally incurable and causes dizziness regularly throughout a persons life. Turns out I literally had low blood pressure and needed some sugar as I had been doing more exercise than normal - I was super dizzy because I was dehydrated as well.
Avoid the Urgent Care Center which is run by Vocare, a private company as opposed to the majority of A&E which is run by the NHS Trust. In the UCC, I was seen by a nurse who was apathetic and rude. The Urgent Care Center are rated as "requires improvement" but the CQC. The UCC is unsafe, ineffective and not well led according to the CQC report available online.
The last review didn't reflect my experience. When I arrived I thought the place looked packed and the line was 15 long but I was registered within 10 mins, seen within 75 and left within 90. There's WiFi provided. Seemed very reasonable to me.
The room I had had mould in the bathroom and was used as a storage room just off the pavement. It was totally bizarre and very worrying.
Excellent services they were really good with me when i had my broken leg 7 years ago and really nice polite professional staff to
