This pub has just reopened after 3 months the new landlord and landlady have done a fantastic refurbishment they have some excellent cask ales like ghost ship, hobgoblin gold, and black sheep all priced reasonably, well worth a visit
Popped in for a coffee...yes really, Simon the landlord was great, made us a couple of coffees and we sat out on the patio area at the back, very relaxing area and a real sun trap they also have some amazing outdoor drinking units covered up. Can't wait to go for a few proper drinks.
Best pub in the village. Always a good welcoming atmosphere
Excellent beers, and always to perfection as a x drayman this is on a must real ale top 10 pubs. Simon and his staff are so welcoming and like today a little boy wanted his favourite crisp Simon went out and got them.
Popped in for a quick and quiet pint and ended up staying longer. Great beer and good friendly staff. Will be heading back soon.
Fantastic traditional village pub. Always a great atmosphere with friendly hosts who can't do enough for you. Always serving a wide selection of great local beers and lots of entertainment included. A great night out every night.
Always a warm friendly welcome. Pleasant atmosphere a place where old and young can enjoy a great evening. Great traditional ales & guest beers all hand pulled. Quiz nights on a sunday pick a key something for everyone. Would recommend this great friendly local.
This is a child and dog friendly pub, great atmosphere fantastic landlord and landlady nothing is to much trouble for them. It has that all round village pub feel to it. My daughter did a surprise 60th Birthday party at the Royal Oak for me in December, and I have to say a big thank you to the landLord and landlady and thier staff, my daughter asked if they would do the food and it was excellent everything you would want on a buffet they had a DJ who was brilliant and played all the classics that took me back years, and the atmosphere was fantastic they did me proud!! So if you are passing through Whitwell call in for a very friendly welcome and a pint.
