"The Lock Keeper in Worksop welcomes you to a family-friendly pub where great food comes first. Our extensive menu is a favourite with the locals, who can’t get enough of our traditional carvery and classic pub grub. Whether it’s steak and Marston’s Pedigree ale pie, a mixed grill, or a choice of roasts in the carvery, there’s always something to make your mouth water. We’re a real family pub, offering a warm and friendly environment for large groups and every age range. Visit us for a quiet midweek lunch by the canal, or bring the whole clan for a celebration!"

Brought the family along for Sunday dinner and the Lockkeeper didn’t disappoint! Situated next to the canal it has a lovely beer garden perfect for a warm sunny day. The pub itself is lovely, clean and had a great atmosphere - families, children and people of all ages chatting away. Staff are excellent, really attentive, friendly and always happy to help, I noticed a young man walking around, I think he was the manager chatting away to people which I thought was really nice - you don’t see that in many pubs! The food was delicious, we all had carveries. Really good value for money, the roast potatoes were to die for and the meat was lovely and tender. Will definitely be visiting again!!
A Wonderful Christmas Eve carvery with my daughter and her partner. Just round the corner from their home. Clean, love the decorations mixed with local photos, courteous staff, especially the young lad plating the carvery at 2pm. A bit cold for a canalside walk, but we'll be back soon! Thank You!
Good food. Great value for money. Friendly staff and wonderful views of the lock and canal. A very good experience....to be repeated. Loads to choose from on the menu.
Went here for the first time last week staff were nice & helpful , place was empty but took 40 minutes for our food to come out with no pre warning or notice it was going to take that long , the food itself was nice & reasonably priced , lots of seating inside with a kids area, nice outdoor seating area next to the canal with kids play park outside
Went here for lunch on a recommendation. Ended up booking a room for three nights and ate dinner several times. Perfect relaxing place to stay on the Chesterfield Canal. Spent a lot of time on pleasant walks along the canal.
Good food good place for our family reunion. We've been going to here for years. We had fish and chip, steaks and burgers on International Women's day and the quality was spot on. Staff was friendly.
We recently brought the family to visit the Lock keeper for a family birthday meal, based simply on recommendations. It didn't disappoint. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely young lady, Laura, who showed us to out table and explained about the option to order at the bar or use the app on your phone! I thought this was a great idea! The pub had a lovely warm, welcoming atmosphere. The Christmas decorations were up and Christmas music was playing. We ordered food/drink via the app and the service was quick. Some of the family had carvery and the meat/veg was delicious especially the roasties! The staff were lovely, they were all extremely helpful and would ask if everything was okay for us. When we'd finished our meals, we were asked about desserts and told we could even take them home if we wanted too! We will definitely come back!
We called in for some lunch. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. We had a light snack which was hot, and tasty. The only downside was the chairs at our table were in need of a clean! They looked really grubby and stained. Apart from that, we would happily call in again. For your information, we were seated at table 30.
Good food, friendly and helpful staff, and a nice location. I enjoyed my stay and bit was a very fair price for the room.
We visit the Lock keeper every Sunday for the carvery. The carvery is second to none and the vegetables are outstanding. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and can't do enough for you. The pub is clean, has well spaced tables and a homily atmosphere. Not had a bad experience yet, keep up the good work guys.
