The management are arrogant, racist, discriminating, white only. They have no transparency in their complaint policy for general public. When I took my children there for activities a staff threw abuse and threat on me when I did nothing wrong. When I argued back with their written policy the deputy head blatantly refused to look into the matter and banned me from the venue and peripherals, without paperwork, and he rejected my request of getting the complaint procedure. He literally told me to F** off and stop writing to them. I couldn’t find any channel to get my voice heard. My messages left in Facebook was not answered. I had to search everywhere to find the email of a secretary and begged her to pass on my case to the head. I took my children to RCM Sparks events for 3 years, never had an issue. It was devastating. I already have mental health disability which they are aware of. I had a severe depression and took an overdose before Christmas. By which time the head of RCM lifted the ban the deputy imposed on me, but refused to apologise, saying they were doing the right thing. In order to cover up, they changed their policy so that they could keep on accusing me of none -compliant. This is what happened in late 2017. Because of the unfair ban I couldn’t book my children on one of their events. When the ban was lifted and I recovered it was too late. I asked them to consider my position and give us priority in waiting list, they didn’t give a damn. If you are like me, a disadvantaged single parent trying to use their service only for the sake of your children, you will understand what I’m saying. They terrorise the parents and lie shamelessly. Some of them are horrible people in wrong power. I wonder why there is no supervisional body at all as I searched high and low. Department of education told me RCM has autonomous status. So they can do whatever they want, be racist, bigoted and all that? Shouldn’t someone up there be concerned and do something, begin with a fair complaint process?

An amazing building which oozes music and history from the very walls, an experience which no other building has ever given me.

Consistent with it's surroundings, this red brick building was constructed in 1889, then came later additions like the concert hall.
