Considering what staff are up against I think they all do a pretty amazing job. Dr James Gordon is very good and the other doctors, of course. People complain about not getting through on the phone but that's the same anywhere you go, it's the way things are now. You have to be a good patient.
I’ve never usually had a problem trying to book an appointment, and each and everyone of the GPs that I have had over the years bar one have been absolutely amazing! It is a little bit frustrating though when you try and call and the phone line says that the surgery is closed, even when it’s around half past 5 and then again at around 6pm. Other than that great.
Awful service, can never get through to speak to anyone without trying muliple times and then sitting on hold for 45 minutes. FInally got an appointment with a nurse on Monday for an urgent issue. The nurse said the surgery would call back to make an appointment for me with a GP. Three days later and heard nothing... Been on hold for 20 minutes so far and only number 4 in the call queue. Avoid joining this surgery!
You can never get through on the phones. Absolutely useless. Think I'm going to have to change surgery.
Type 1 diabetic, sometimes I urgently need an appointment, near enough impossible now. The surgery have continuously taken on new patients and don't improve the system, don't employ enough staff to cope with the demand. I don't even try to ring now, which I guess is their long game.
I've been registered at this practice for 20 years, and have always found their patient care to be excellent. Dr Hales has an excellent understanding of mental health issues, and I have always found her to be very supportive. She also got me admitted to hospital very quickly when I developed a heart problem.
My new GP Dr Strickland has been excellent. She has always done her best to diagnose my problems and has managed to navigate through the minefield that are mental health services in this area. She is very prompt with letters and referrals. Am so glad that my old gp retired as he appeared to have "given up'
I've been with lovemead surgery for a long time since I was a little girl, and I'm still with them they work hard, and lovely staff aswel.when I go for my inr I'm in there straight away.also cos I've got health problams aswel I always get seen straight away.so for me it's the best surgery,I wouldn't go anywhere else.
A busy practice with understandably full lists, but the GPs and nursing staff are all excellent, caring and competent. Receptionists who are under considerable pressure do their best to get you seen as soon as possible.
Have been extremely let down, in particular by Dr James Gordon who dismisses any patients with mental health problems, makes up lies about non attendance when he knows fully well people phone in to cancel or make an appointment an other day. I have been refused the help now as my picture will indicate, I have never known such an uncaring and insensitive Dr in all my years of going to the surgery. He has let the surgery down, he has let mental health patients down and he is contributing towards the ever growing number of male suicides occurring each year. The reception team are as obnoxious and ignorant as Dr Gordon too, a living nightmare trying to actually get to see someone then this... 'professional' makes matters worse. Avoid this surgery if you suffer mental health problems, if not , then let your families pick up the pieces.
