I was really looking forward to reviewing this roti stop shop. Overall I was not impressed, the lamb curry was decent. The roti was flakey and a bit dry. The salt fish bakes were really nice though. The doubles was really greasy and the Chana Daal filling inside the doubles had a lot of potatoes inside. The fresh juices were priced at 6 pounds. Patties priced at 3 pounds. Overpriced and expected true authenticity and better quality with the roti and doubles. Parking: Have to keep an eye out for ticket inspectors while you park in the bays near the station.
Very warm welcome and beautiful staff, the food is very homely and very authentic to the Caribbean. I ordered quiet a variety considering I am vegan they had a lot of ital food to offer. Vegetarian options: Roti’a Patties, Drinks Deserts
Great traditional Caribbean food! I drive 45 mins just for a roti! My fav is the pumpkin roti but I also love the meat options as well! Vegetarian options: Pumpkin Roti is the best!
Wonderful authentic Trini food. Just my favourite take out food in London. It took ages tonight, bit they were lovely about it and it's always worth the wait.Food: 5/5
Local, family run roti shop serving Trinidad food. Great music too.Food: 5/5
See a lot of people saying the roti is dry but it's a dhal puri roti and meant to be that texture to compliment the wet filling. The curried goat roti had good flavour and a decent kick of heat but had some really big bones left in and not as much meat as I was expecting. Made eating it a bit tricky - I had to stand by a bin to dispose of the bones while I ate. Otherwise it would be a decent roti and good value for £10.
The Sorrel and sesmoss homemade juice is by far the best I've ever had in London. No sugar no sweetener, just natural-just the way I like it Doubles, roti, curry chickpeas was divine - Took me back to Trinidad. I went back twice in 1 day for food and drinks. When I'm in the area which is not often I will most definitely be returning!!! Finger licking.
Go if you like incredibly long waits, forgotten orders, and rude service. Chaos. Too many bad experiences. Won't be back again. I'm carribean and my family and friends come by a lot because its local and the owner is a nice guy. I like his dhal puri and lamb curry. However, there is one woman who, whenever she's on till, forgets every order, serves in the wrong order and is damn rude when you've politely waited for literally 30 minutes only to see 4 people arrive after you served their food first because she forgot who's waiting. Happened again this evening. This happened more than 3 times and to my friends/family too multiple times. It's pure chaos when she's there. Jaw-dropping bad service, and she's going to lose Bernard a lot of business. Get a better system or person taking orders.
First of all I’m grateful for the food. For so many years I heard great reviews about Roti Stop, and have been dying to try it - especially the doubles. I saw the poor reviews on google, but decided to give it a chance. The doubles was bland. It lacked the tamarind sauce that makes doubles authentic. The curry chicken was dry with a lot of rice and peas. Portion was decent though, but too spicy for my liking.
Not how it used to be once was amazing don't know what's happened but definitely not as good as when they first opened up standards has dropped. The roti I got was very disappointing.Food: 1/5
