Rocks East Woodland

This is a great campsite for certain kind of camping. Definitely great for families and groups. Pros: private forest with map and fun landmarks for kids, camp fires, good location, good shop. Cons: bathroom, particularly showers, not great, fairly pricey For us coming for Bristol for one night was perfect.

Shame. Booked for 2 families with baby and toddlers, last minute. Pretty setting but whiff of sewerage not great. Also the owner had 2 very large parties that weekend which we were in the middle of. There were around 40 children running round in packs with the parents just ignoring their behaviour. We ended up having to ask them to play round their tents rather than in everyone else's, shouting and screaming. The owner could have placed us outside of these groups or at least warned us he'd taken that kind of booking. 1 shower each for men and women, which the campsite is upfront about, but not cleaned regularly for that amount of people.

Turned up and the gates were locked. Website says it's open from early April. Tried ringing both numbers. Mobile rings out, landline goes to answerphone. No indication it would be closed still on April 22nd, especially considering it's a sunny Easter holiday.

A lovely woodland site. Each site has a fire pit too.
