Wow!! I got the steak and Guinness pie and it was DELICIOUS. I've been traveling through 8 countries in Europe for the past month and a half and this was one of the best meals I've had. Perfect puff pastry to filling ratio, steak super tender, chips perfectly cooked, and the vegetables on the side were absolutely delicious!! Service was also phenomenal. Seating was incredibly comfortable which was SO nice for someone like me who has chronic back pain. The booths are more like couches, genuinely the most comfortable restaurant seating I've ever seen. I'd recommend this to anyone who was in belfast!! Really amazing experience!
Great local place and one we stopped to not only look at the scenery and lore of the building itself, but to sample some of the lagers. Neither disappointed and it was interesting hearing the conversations and revelry in the other patrons. Wish I could have taken more pictures, but was more concerned with enjoying the place than taking pictures.
I visited the restaurant for late lunch and ordered a Chicken Stack with pepper sauce on the side. The chicken breast was well-seasoned but a little overcooked for my liking. It was served with an enormous portion of mashed potatoes. At the very top, you can find golden and crispy onion rings which added a nice crunch to the dish. Overall, the food was filling but there was nothing special about it. Last but not least, I tried the Chocolate Fudge Cake which was divine! The staff was very kind and friendly too.
Good bar in the center of Belfast just opposite the Europa Hotel, and because of its location it’s a good place to meet friends before going on somewhere else. Good selection of beer and food is also available. Pints are £5.70 which some find expensive.
We wanted to visit Franklin's bar to watch the football but they were full so the door staff directed us here. Simple no frills pub showing sport on a few screens, good range of beers. Atmosphere was friendly. Only issue we had was the staff took quite a while to clear the tables.
Dinner before a concert on our last night in Belfast. Made reservations, had a nice table and the food was good. Servers were friendly enough but it took a long time to get drinks, then food. There was a mix up with my order that was resolved but had to be resolved again when we finally received the bill.
I enjoyed my lunch there. The food is average, the place is relaxing.
Had a nice time, staff great, getting a pint was no problem even though it was Christmas Party night and likely the busiest time of the year for all. We had food upstairs, which I had never eaten there before and was pleasantly surprised, it wasn't overly busy when I had lunch but nice atmosphere and again staff were there and on the ball with service. The food let it down I had roast Beef dinner which was just Ok. The beef was chewy and vegetables soggy potatoes weren't great either. It's hard to screw up a roast beef dinner but they managed it and my wife's Turkey and Ham wasn't much better. I will go back because overall I liked it and I would give them a second chance on the food mainly because it was very comfortable and possibly the kitchen was under a bit of pressure that day.
This was my old watering hole 30 odd years ago. The staff were friendly and even bought down my sisters Guinness which said, was lovely head on it, creamy and delicious. I had malibu and diet coke. It was late on Monday afternoon so it wasn't too busy so we were able to talk. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Went here on Saturday evening. When I went to the front door there were 3 door staff stood there. I waited whilst 6/7 people exited the premises. As I went to enter one of the door staff stood directly in front of me greeting me with an aggressive, “Alright mate!” Obviously checking my level of intoxication! I hadn’t even had a drink. As I walked through the door there was a second set of doors. Rather than open the door and welcome me in the door man looked at me and said, “knock yourself out,” as in open the door for yourself. I spoke with the bar staff who were very nice and explained my disgust at my treatment. The door staff seriously need trained on customer services. I will not set foot over the doors of this place’s ever again and I’ll be sure to let others know of my experience.
