Made a booking which we don't usually. Was greeted and opened a "tab" with drinks straight away. Shown to our table which was reserved. 4 of us dined each of us had the 3 course set menu . Food came promptly with impeccable service throughout the evening. Each of us had an amazing meal throughout. I wasn't expecting such delicious food from a pub chain. Lovely setting wonderful friendly service and fantastic food.
I am going to rely on my daughter for this review...from the mouth of babe's and all that! " Dad, it's all so yummy!" Dish in the image is the Duo Roast so a generous slice of two meats, four 'pigs in blankets' and all the trimmings. The Horseradish and Mustard sauces were homemade rocket fuel...just how I like it!
Took my Nan for her 91st birthday as she's not into anything fancy and 12 other family members. Never again... The food was cold. Not to mention the Pie n mash. When I informed the manager her attitude towards this was shocking. Avoid.
A pub with a very nice interior, tasty food and very friendly staff. Lovely place.
Lovely bright, comfortable, warm but airy establishment with welcoming helpful staff. Great lunchtime wraps came with dressed side salad and good quality potato crisps. Good hot americano coffee served with hot milk, just as I like. All very good value and perfect. Just perfect for ladies who lunch.
Tried the Sunday lunchtime menu an selected the two course meal. It was excellent with good size portions with matching quality. Very pleasant experience. It was also a competitively priced meal and we will revisit.
Good food reasonably priced ,friendly staff comfortable surroundings. Gluten free options are available but no separate menu and you have to work around a allergy app. Just a niggle I went for the GF Sunday lunch which meant to make it gluten free they just took off the plate any items that had gluten and did not offer a substitute or extra portions to compensate. Ie still the same price, which seems a bit stingy.
This pub has been reinvented many times as its part of the Ember Inn chain. Currently it's well run and popular. They have the basic pub menu but the food is OK. We had been out walking through the nearby woods and parks, with our dogs and called in here for a coffee and some lunch. The coffee was received with mixed reaction. I asked for a weak latte and a very strong black Americano. The latte was fine but the black Americano was disappointingly weak too..... especially as I had requested it extra strong. We shared a fish finger sandwich served with salad and crisps, which we upgraded to chips. Who wants crisps with a fish finger butty???? It was OK. There was a disappointing choice of sandwiches .... the fish finger or BLT Again I ask who wants salad with a BLT???? , it's already got ! and T in it !!!! There was enough for us to share and be satisfied. It was OK.... plus points.. the place is nicely decorated and the chairs are comfortable, they allow in dogs the staff are polite and friendly.... Overall OK is the best I can offer.
Always a really great place for a meal and the meal we had for my birthday late November was really good and no exception .!! However a chance meeting with a dear friend last week meant we called in just for a couple of coffees. My friend waited some considerable time to be served then when the drinks came they were mediocre.? They were both lukewarm and the cups only three quarters full. I suspect an autmatic machine made the drinks and the cups too large for the amount of coffee served in them. Sorry for the little complaint. Yes we could have complained but the wait was so long iand we were stuck for time that it wouldn't have been worth it. As I said previously the meals are normally really good and value for your money.
We go to the Robin Hood a few times a year. It's good for family meals, and the team are always accommodating. My son loves it, so this was a nice end of term/pre Christmas treat for him.
