It's not usual that I leave a review, but my recent experience with Bella at the Robert Frew Medical Centre prompted me to do this. I decided to head to the surgery and speak to someone in person as I and many others struggle to get through to anyone there by phone and the reception staff never seem useful. When I arrived, I met Bella, who was very understanding and reassuring. She went above and beyond to ensure my query was dealt with and that I got the help I needed. I really felt that she listened to my concerns and made me feel important.
I joined this practice about a year ago and have had to attend appointments 3 times. On all three occasions I have had to wait at least 20 minutes past my time slot, without even an apology. This morning I booked an early appointment as I needed to be on a work call for 09:30. The appointment was for 09:00 at 09:20 I asked reception why there was a delay. They had no answer other than the patient in front of me may have had a funny turn. I had arrive at 08:40 and no one went on before me. I'm really not impressed with the lack of care being given by this practice
Unfortunately after 7 years the standards in my view are at rock bottom. Rude impatient staff are just the start. Can’t make an appointment without having 2 -3 week wait. The last straw was I had another issue with repeat prescription. She claimed I couldn’t have requested it, but I took photos this time of me posting it. !! Reception went off to see what could be done, then in front of me started chatting about a colleagues new sandals. So now her & 2 others are chitchatting, no wonder mistakes are made. No real customer care, I was ignored until she finished & then returned. Her mannerisms were very unprofessional. I find this the absolute norm in there now. And now I’ve moved surgeries. Was a great little surgery. I too work with members of the public, and would be ashamed of myself if l spoke like the majority of staff at Robert Frew .
Absolutely appalling surgery. Can’t even phone them any more! Automated voice just says ‘your call can’t be completed at present’ and then hangs up! Disgusting that this surgery is still allowed to operate with these issues and rude staff members and I will be changing surgeries asap.
I am a new patient here and was reluctant to join after reading reviews but unfortunately they are all true I was sent for a blood test and sent a letter to discuss results with doctor Donnelly after trying on numerous occasions to get through I finally got through after waiting 24 minutes they were not able to give me an appointment not even when I said I don’t mind if it’s in two months time as I was asked to discuss results the reception ended up putting phone down so unprofessional and unhelpful hopefully it’s nothing serious wrong ! Never had this response from my previous surgery in Rayleigh for the 22 years I was there!
I cannot comment on the GP side as my own GP is just as useless but I did go there to have a lump removed from my back so my review is about that experience and nothing else I arrived on time and waited five minutes to go in, the nurse Lesley was lovely, friendly and just what you would have expected The doctor Dr Subrt sorry I did not get your first name was waiting, explained to me what would happen and seemed genuinely interested in making sure I was comfortable with what would be happening They both talked to me while he was doing the procedure, I felt very relaxed despite him cutting bits out of me. When done and all bandaged/stitched Dr Subrt took the time to tell me what he had removed, how to deal with the stitches and was unbelievable kind, friendly, knowledgable, caring and reminded me so much of the TV doctors we see that we all wished we had He told me how to approach my own GP for further care good luck getting my GP to even see me let alone care about me Dr Subrt and Leslie are both superb, I truly hope that they remain there for a long time and give such wonderful care to others despite all the pressure they are most certainly under I wish I could give 10 stars to both of them - thank you for being just what we all need from our doctors and nurses
Excellent practise, staff and doctors are very good. Like every where you need a little patience with the initial contact. I find the reception staff very helpful and informative.
Lovely doctors. Appalling administration. Next to impossible to contact the surgery. Unfortunately, 1 star is the lowest score I can give it, it deserves lower.
Brilliant service at Robert Frew today. Getting an appointment was impossible so wrote a letter explaining what I needed. Within 24 hours everything was arranged. Just called again due to a pharmacy supply issue and within ten minutes I was called back, everything was rearranged and very quickly sorted out. Really impressed. I had braced myself for a long wait but have been really astounded at how fast the receptionists on The Wick, Shotgate and the doctor helped. Thank you
Have to say I understand the problems with the telephone responses, but have to say my diabetic nurses have been exceptional in monitoring my insulin change and diabetic support
