Really lovely family run tea and art shop. Owners are really friendly and full of great local knowledge. Each bird in the aviary has their own unique story of how they came into the owners care.
Lovely little cafe, nice people. Arrived on my motorbike and they let me leave it there whilst we went for a walk . Toasted tea-cake and latte. If you phone in advance they'll happily prepare something more substantial.
Robert was a gent and lovely little place
Wow!! What can I say. We arrived at the village of Satterthwaite yesterday 24/07/20 for a 1 week holiday with our 9 year old son. We are here to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary and the first place we went to was round the corner from where we are staying at Bobtail cottage which was Robert Fletcher’s art Gallery. We had a gorgeous sandwich, cake and coffee in the tearoom which is part of the art gallery and spoke to Robert, his wife and son and bought some beautiful prints of a kingfisher for our son’s room and a badger and fox cubs prints. Robert has a god given talent and his art work I could only describe as genius. He is a true gent, is warm, humorous and is so generous with his time and we shall be visiting to buy more artwork and speaking to Robert and his family in the coming week. I would recommend a visit as a must for anyone visiting Satterthwaite
I found this lovely little 'Wildlife Studio and Tearoom' by accident, on a trip to the Lake District, Satterwaite, Grizedale Forest last weekend. I wanted to come out of the rain and this beautiful little shop / tearoom was a welcomed stop!! There is fantastic wildlife art on sale from the formidable Robert Fletcher, who, if you have time, has a tale or two to tell. I would definitely drop in here again, when and if in area. Thank you Robert Fletcher and family.
Great coffee and friendly people. Some great paintings/prints. But the avary is something to be desired. Very sad to see such majestic birds of prey cooped up in such small cages.
Found this little gem by pure chance whilst riding the trails around Grizedale forest. Very friendly, and really interesting to learn more about Robert and his artwork. Plus had amazing gluten free carrot cake, which is a huge bonus for us! Recommend popping in if you're in the area.
Came across this gem of a place. Hospitality was above and beyond to the point we could have sat all day and talked.His artwork is beautiful too see a very talented man. The kids loved getting a chance to get up close and experience the European eagle owl, The Harris Hawk, The barn owl and the Tawny Owl. This stop off alone made everyone's stay in the lakes perfect thankyou Robert and family
Wonderful place, lovely people, cosy studio with beautiful display of art works............going there I felt like I am being greeted by friends though I never met them before!
Fantastic prints, loved all his work, he even does canvas prints, lovely guy to talk to, I bought 4 pictures from him today will definitely be back for more. Well worth a visit.
