This place is amazing, staff are so accommodating and inclusive to everyone. I brought my daughter to an Easter funday and got her some food, the food was lovely and so affordable. Will definitely be coming back, the new management is absolutely brilliant, thank you to all staff members for making it an enjoyable experience.
Following a christening, a large group of us visited the Burn Inn Houghton-le-Spring. 25 of us sampled the Sunday lunch from the carvery and we were all very happy with the quality & quantity of the food served. Amanda, Mark and all the staff made us welcome with great service ensuring we had a great meal. Mark and Amanda are new to this pub, we wish them all the best in their new venture. Thankyou for a superb afternoon.
Came for Sunday lunch. There were only 2 other tables in use. The carvery was awful, cold meats & veg. Had to wait for mash which was the only decent thing on the plate. Yorkshire puddings were burnt as were the tiny roast potatoes. The only plus was that we were refunded quickly.
Called in for a drink on the family fun day. Lovely atmosphere. Brilliant staff very friendly. Highly recommend
Dirty glasses & warm beer, avoid! Was my first review. But............................ Apparently we caught the last day of previous landlady! Returned 2 weeks later after hearing it is now a marstons inn Everything good now, had a nice meal and drinks and new tenants trying very hard
Called in for a drink nice friendly people had a chat with new owner mark all been decorated and new menu so wish mark well for the future
This place is brilliant me and all my mate come down every weekend staff are WELCOMING FRIENDLY BRILLINT AND MAKE YOU FEEL AT HOME THE BANDS ARE FANTASTIC THE PINTS ARE MOUTHWATERING AND THE FOOD IS WONDERFUL!!
Amanda and Mark have brought a very welcoming atmosphere, the food is amazing and the drinks are perfect. Highly recommend.

the pub is now a drug pit full with underage drinking and lock-ins until 5am every weekend Will not be returning until the current land lady is out. *replying to comment* There is no underage drinking? What about the young lady you employ who is under 18? And all the drinking behind the bar!!
