Throw back to the 70's & 80s Disco, and Funk nights that take place at the epic Rivoli Ballroom, which in itself is a major player. Typically every forth saturday of each month. Expect a spectacular live show too.

Story


Rouges at the Rivoli host a retro evening of pure non stop throw backs to the good, great and cheese of the 70's, 80's, disco, and funk.

You can be inventive as you like with a varied dress code, but think old school madonna, meets Prince.

There will be a live act or band each month, we've already had an aerialist Wonder Women swinging near the chandeliers, to Soul Sister hula hoopers, from David Bowie to Chinese Elvis. Recently featured in The Daily Telegraph top 30 retro nights in London, as well as recommended by Time Out, this night a energy and fun night, and one for the grownups. Crack on with that neon eye shadow and crimped hair and we shall see you on the dance floor !

This is a fantastic venue. Such a beautiful place with heaps of history and fame appearing in various famous films and music videos. The staff are very friendly, helpful and fun. They have cinema nights as well as music nights, I highly recommend the Halloween disco which I've been to twice, so much fun, but book well in advance because tickets sell fast. This is really an amazing place.
My new favourite place, Rivoli ballroom , there is a music night for everyone from the 70's to the 90's, reggae and salsa, Drinks are very reasonable, and a fun atmosphere, and if you live in SE london your home in 10-15 mins. Service: 5/5
A friend had his 30th birthday here this weekend. I have to commend the staff who ran the quickest, most efficient bar I think I've ever experienced in London! The service really is to be commended. At a time when most bars queues keep you waiting an age, the team here were super quick. Not to mention the venue is absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to come back!
I went here last night for the first time with a few friends. It was 10 out of 10. From the staff to the people also enjoying the night. Everyone was out for a good time. It was all about the music, some people were dressed really casual and some went out of their way to look the part. It had a mixture of different cultures and backgrounds who all blended together perfectly. The age range was from about 30ish, to I might say 60ish. Everyone was dancing, it was souls and rare groove night. I found out they also have a reggae night coming up,so that's my next one. You have to buy the tickets online and they only cost £10. I must mention that everything is cash inside they DO NOT take card. Definitely recommend.
Wow what a lovely venue So amazing to sit and enjoy an old ballroom and to imagine what it was like back it it’s heyday !! We enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco at £20 a bit pricey but it was nice. And we just sat back and watched the old Jaws film had a romantic evening with my husband.
Went to dance with some friends on Saturday the 23rd of March 24. I may be guilty of expecting too much, but was a disappointing night. The DJ kept changing the records just after half way through the play, it was a bit like going to a wedding. Also, im not sure the acoustics are set up that well for the system there, you can hear the general chatter of the crowd over the music. The bar was small and house white wine was like drinking vinegar. I truly love faded glamour and I know £ is tight, but the Rivoli needs an update. The ladies toilet is beginning to collapse into the road outside and the place looks and feels tired. It could be absolutely fabulous, but the above creates a lack of atmosphere and welcoming spirit. A few tweaks here and there, some structural redesign and a decent bar wouldn't go amiss. Customers may increase with a cash and card use facility. Done well an update could maintain the charm, but bring the Rivoli into the 21st century.
Lovely venue and great music. However the drinks taste watered down. Beers spirits weak. Tried the wine and not good quality. I go for the music.
Attended a new event called HONEY DIP . It was an amazing evening . Celebrating my birthday. Will definitely try and olgo again.Service: 5/5
I came here for a Halloween cinema evening and will definitely be returning! The staff were really friendly and the venue was perfect for a screening of The Shining. The bar and snack offerings were good too. Highly recommend.Atmosphere: 5/5
Gorgeous authentic ballroom that has great events on. Have been going to the Rouges disco religiously now and it never disappoints although the playlists can be a bit same-y. It’s cash only which is a little bit annoying but there’s a cashpoint right across the venue so it’s doable.Service: 5/5
