I've been with Riverside Medical Centre for 4 years now but agree with the reviews. Needs a complete overhaul. The Dr's have been nice in the past, receptionists always rude over the phone and was rude this morning, she should consider changing profession! On hold for an hour this morning, finally got through to reception who said that they will call back with an appointment ?! It's the end of the day now, still no call, I submitted an eConsult ticket also and have just received an email saying my eConsult will be acted upon in 3 working days ?! Went to A&E instead earlier, was very quick and I feel better for it. Definitely changing my GP, I don't think they can handle as many patients as they've taken on.
Register here if you enjoy waiting on hold for 90 minutes every time you call them, chasing up admin staff constantly for things they’ve promised to do, and running out of medicine because it takes them 10 days to reissue a simple prescription. Also great if you dislike meeting new people because there is absolutely no chance of you getting a face to face appointment.
I just spoke to the rudest telephone hub supervisor this morning. I called up at 8.50am after receiving a letter in the mail from the clinic asking me to call in to book my daughters polio vaccination. When I finally got through, Denzil spoke to me rudely and said "just for future reference, you should call after 9 for these sort of things as we're very busy right now and I have to go through a lot of admin to get your daughter's vaccine appointment". Are you KIDDING me? Just when I thought this clinic couldn't get any worse. The doctors at the clinic are very nice and competent when you see them but the admin/receptionist staff need a complete overhaul. How on earth was I meant to know when to call? And what entitles your staff to treat patients with such rudeness and disregard? Denzil's attitude to me was appalling and if you cannot book a simple vaccine by calling the clinic without being grumbled at, then something is very wrong.
An excellent practice. Very short waiting times, attentive receptionists who will do all they can to book you in asap with a doctor. The doctors I have seen have all been extremely professional and thorough.
Completely oversubscribed, long wait times, and the worst communication/appointment booking system I’ve ever seen. Simple administrative issues can take months. They regularly lose results and important documents which means god knows who’s seen your confidential medical paperwork. They have a seemingly endless rotating cast of doctors and nurses both onsite and offsite doing calls only. There’s no way to choose who you see and Ive never seen the same person twice in 3 years. So you can’t build up trust or a personal relationship with anyone there, and every time you have contact with them you have to explain your medical history from scratch even if it’s a standard monthly thing. Plus, because of the large rotating cast of gps and nurses, the quality of your treatment is a total lottery every time.
Very poor service. You will never get an appointment, always there phone line even afternoon it's very busy. They shouldn't taked new patients even if they couldn't offered an appointment with there old patients. It's time to improve there service standards.
This practice had been going downhill for a number of years now, and completely since they merged with Hurley Clinic. All of the good doctors left in droves. You are left on hold for up to an hour at a time, sometime the phone is put down so you have to start all over again. The worst part is that it is impossible to get a same day appointment. Told appointments are given in 1-2 weeks in advance - how does anyone know they'll be sick in two weeks time? It's ridiculous. Took me 8 years to get a diagnosis for my condition and today I have a sick child who's under 18 and I cannot get a doctors appointment for them. Always must have an online consultation which could take 3days to speak to someone. It shouldn't be allowed. After 10 years here I think it's time to leave and look elsewhere.
It is very shameful that in 2022, in the United Kingdom, this kind of practice is still permitted to operate. From very unprofessional / rude staff, to a non functional booking system and GPs you could never get hold of, a never have seen before. For patients looking to register: stay away. For those running this practice: shame of you for being complacent with such level of service.
If I could give this practice zero stars I would worse doctors surgery ever. They put you on hold for so long the staff are rude over the phone. They do not think kids are priority their excuse is they have 10,000 patients. I have only been here couple of days and I’m changing to another practice. Sign up at your own risk all the nice reviews are lies all the bad ones are true no surgery is perfect but this one is dreadful I have never had to write a review for a doctors surgery but it’s that bad oh and I will definitely will be contacting CQC and Phso because something needs to be done especially when kids are not seen as priority
the worst gp I have ever registered.most of the doctors who works in there are careless they are only there for taking the salary.many of their targets are not to heal or cure people. every time I CALL this gp nobody is picking up the phone.or you will be in the queue min 30.
