I have been a patient of Dr Hammond, the clinic and now Dr Cookson for 35 years. Let me say this, the receptionists, staff, nurses, Dr Cookson and her team are absolutely the best. I feel well taken care of. As well I have used the social work services and Lois helped me move through my grief when my 25 year marriage ended. Now I am seeing Nichole to look at other parts of my life. How lucky am I?! Thank you Victoria Family Medical team!!
Dr. Cookson is the worst doctor I have ever had to deal with. Getting a hold of her is impossible, they don't even answer phones at this office. I left several messages with a nurse to talk about my mother who is a patient and never received a call back. Cookson does not care about her patients at all.
Been in twice for a bad cold, first visit he said wait a week or two and make another appointment if it doesn't get any better for some antibiotics. Second visit this morning 9am. They give me a puffer for my cough as well as my ears feeling like they're over pressure especially when I yawn. She said stop smoking so much pot lol I told her I work 10-12 hrs a day lol how much pot do you think one joint is. The puffer sucks, I'll be making another appointment this week. Definitely Definitely not pleased with the service. I have a sinies infection. What's a puffer gonna do
A friend who was a patient with Dr Hammond for 25 plus years, now a patient with Dr Cookson has been struggling with some mental health issues, and is seeking help from the professionals went in to have forms filled out and was told” we don’t know you, sorry can’t fill them out” what kind of Dr. says this when you have been a patient at that same clinic for 40 plus years? Let’s just knock the person back down so they never get back up!! This makes our health system look very sad, and we wonder why there is so much Mental Health issues in our society. I am disgusted, with these actions, and like others say she does not acknowledge her patients only the residents do.
Great clinic! My husband used to see Dr Witmore as a child and now our family sees Dr Wicket and she is amazing. Super kind, attentive and reassuring. I usually get same-day appointments for my kids which is great instead of having to go to a walk-in. They no longer meet you at the hospital unfortunately. However, if ever they are closed, they refer you to a satellite clinic at which you can make an appointment. The only difficulty is that you see many student doctors, so it usually is a new face every appointment, but you can definitely request to see your doctor if that's what you prefer.
I always get an appointment promptly usually same day. I used to visit Dr. Wetmore but he when took a position at London health and sciences, I was transferred to Dr. Wicket. She is very friendly and truly listens to my concerns. I have been going to this clinic for 20 plus yrs. especially loved the clinic when my daughter was young always got in to see a doctor promptly, called on weekends and was met at hospital by a doctor on call on many occasions while my daughter was young. I found this to be a great comfort when I my child was prone to strep throat often, and emergency doctors would misdiagnose, while as a mother knew what it was and what meds would make my baby better. Appreciate that fact that I do have a doctor when many don't. Although there have been staff changes mostly still the same great atmosphere.
My family has been patients here for over 30 years. When Jo-Anne Hammondour doctor was still there, she was fantastic, and despite it being a teaching center, always made sure to come in after the resident was finished and ask if you had any questions or concerns for HERas SHE would know your history more than her student. Since Hammond's retirement we have had 2 doctorsMoxley and now Cookson take her place and NEITHER of them have been of any help for my brother, my mother OR myself. When my brother went for a referral for his back pain, he was told that there's no point because the OTHER doctor wouldn't be able to do anything for him, when I went in to ask to get my hormones tested, I was asked questionsby Cookson's resident and when he went to relay my answers, she didn't even come IN to tell me they won't check my levels because from my answers she think's I'm fine. My MOTHER had been having health issues for the past FOUR YEARS and they'll send her for a few tests, and when her results come back in the "normal spectrum", she's given ANXIETY PILLS to help her PHYSICAL ailments. Only after going to the after hours clinic and Saint Joe's has Cookson claimed to be worried or care. If I could give negative stars I would
Extremely slow. Never on time for appointments. Waited over an 1 hour watching multiple people come into waiting room after I register and see the dr before me. My time is more valuable than they feel clearly
Dr Nabeel is a very nice Dr. She's compassionate and really cares about her patients. Very nice workplace as well.
Dr Anna Pawlec has been my daughter's doctor, as well as mine, since she was born. She is 10 years old and Pawlec has made sure she's healthy and happy her whole life. Thank you to Dr. Pawlec and the whole team at Victoria Family Medical Center!
