Ferry Inn

About

The Ferry Inn pub in Wilford, Nottingham dates back to the 14th century.

Story

The Ferry Inn is located in the small, picturesque village of Wilford which has a river running through it. A picture book pub with low ceilings, real fires, nook and crannies, the outside is decorated with hanging baskets and window baskets. It is reputed to be the most haunted pub in Nottingham with a history of a number of ghosts...! People are attracted to this destination food house for both the super meals to be enjoyed and the great selection of quality drinks at the bar. Like all Chef & Brewer pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have superb kitchen facilities. The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair! You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines. For the connoisseurs of real ale we generally have a choice of five or other drinks available at the bar. During the summer the extra large beer garden is a favourite place to lap up the sun and just relax. There is enough seating for 200 people! This is such a friendly, welcoming venue. Don't leave it too long before calling in to try one of the great meals on offer here. You will want to repeat this dining experience.

"The Ferry Inn is a beautiful, cosy country pub nestled in Wilford and we’re so proud to welcome you. Recently moved to the area so visited for Sunday lunch. Really nice environment and super lovely staff. The venison special had sold out but the confit duck was a tasty back up. Looking forward to returning for a cracking roast.
Had a lovely meal with family, everyone really enjoyed their meal and the bakewell tart pudding was delicious. Only slight issue we had was the lack of sausages for our toddler- was the only thing she really wanted, but she's a bit of a diva! Overall, would eat there again for sure
Came for a family meal, absolutely lovely historical pub/restaurant! Our server Jane went above and beyond, truly fantastic service to say they were short staffed, an amazing example of someone who is on top of their job and focus on customer service, a real credit to the team at the Ferry Inn! Thank you very much for a lovely visit, we'll be sure to come back :
With the sun finally appearing, I was searching for a place for a sit down full english with outdoor seating to enjoy the sun. I was initially going to go to a chain restaurant nearby, but decided to use this pub as the brunch menu sounded great. The service was exceptional with staff bringing my drinks and food to the table really quickly, checking on me half way through and taking my plate swiftly afterwards. The breakfast was delicious, well presented, hot and with all the condiments I could wish for. Overall, I really enjoyed a great full english in the sun with some peace and quiet in a nice beer garden. Well done to the Ferry Inn team, I'll be back again soon!
A nice looking pub with a good garden and friendly staff. The menu was quite varied and had options for everyone. The starters were not great calamari was over cooked and soup was okay but the pies were a hit.
Ruddy lovely food! Friendly staff with plenty of seating throughout. Best pub food in years served here.
Great Burns night supper experience! Food was great and the beer was good. Been there for several wonderful Sunday lunches too. The selection is great, the meats exactly how you would want them and the vegetables were a cut above. Deserts are always super tasty too.
Always an excellent meal in great surroundings and really good service. An important place for our family get togethers. Lovely!
Booked here again for my birthday. Arrived early to take our place by the open fire which was incredibly welcome sight on such a cold January morning. Greeted by Charlotte, Assisrant Manager with a welcoming and cheery smile immediately set the tone for the day. I was initially tempted by the specials that matt the chef rustles up snd is changed weekly. But stuck with the regular Sirloin. Cooked to perfection. Served my Maria who's service was prompt. It genuinely is a pleasure to be served here 2 mins walk from Wilford village tram stop. Everybody from kitchen staff to front of house staff and the cleaner. Make this place an enjoyable experience everytime. Thank you to Dom and the entire team. 5 stars dont even cover it.
Lovely surroundings, good quality food at a very acceptable price, nice beers and very friendly staff, particularly Jane who looked after us at our table, a very nice place to dine out
