The staff are nice and seem to be happy. We were served by Zoe today. The food is really good and there is a salad bar, there are also mini rolls. I had the Harvester 83 combo which gives half a chicken, half a rack of ribs chips and gravy.
I've been four times for weekend breakfast in the past year and each time it has got worse. About 12 months ago it was very good and very well priced. My latest visit on 31.04.16 was bad. The price had gone up, the food quality had gone down and the service was very slow. We waited 30 minutes to give an order which then took 30 minutes to arrive with the majority of the food stone cold. No chance to say anything as there was no follow-up "Is it all ok?" - In fact we didn't see a staff member for about ten minutes. By the time we saw someone we didn't want to have to wait any longer. Took the decision to eat some of it, pay, and not come back. Only giving 2 stars as our waitress was trying her best and was polite but they are clearly understaffed.
After planning a nice treat for my family and in-laws on Mothering Sunday I was not impressed at all. we arrived early as we knew the restaurant was going to be busy only to be told it would be a 2 hour wait for a table or we could order from the bar area which would be the same. So we sat in the bar area and ordered our food at 12:25. We thought all was well and as lots of people were getting their food, we asked a couple of times when our food was going to be served, having two young children and elderly in-laws who are not in good health we didn't want to wait too long. when we ordered our food we were told it would be approx.45 mins wait which gave us time to have a netter and catch up before eating. It came to 14:30 with us wondering what had happened to find our order had not gone to the Kitchen, we were offered £25 which was third of the total cost, when the food arrived it was not hot and they had got the order wrong. i would strongly advise to give this harvester a miss, we will not be returning again.
after not being out for a few years due to illness. my children decided to treat me to a meal for my 50th. Although very busy the waitress was very helpful and found time for us. The service was excellent, I have marked the food down as I had steak which was very grizzly and tough. which although you can never tell when the steak is raw was a disappointment. I would use again, as my children have used it several times always with fantastic reviews so this must have been a 1 off.
Back in the UK on holiday and four of us went to the Harvester where we had enjoyed good meals on previous occasions some 18 months ago. To say we were disappointed would not describe our feelings on the food, service or beer. Will not visit again unless we hear things have changed for the very much better. One to avoid I think
I took my daughter in law and family for a meal at the harvesters in riverhead whilst they were over for my husband's and her father's funeral. They live in Ireland. We waited 45 min for a table then when we got to the table were told that it would be another 45 min wait for our food. This is just not acceptable. Then when the good arrived it was nothing special. I will not be returning.
Booked a month on advance as it can be difficult getting a table in the holidays needed to change it took numerous phone calls just to get answered with the first answer being can u phone back in half an hour as I'm in the office. Guess what 2 more ignored calls before finally getting the amendment. When we got there first we got ignored and actually watched as staffed walked away from the queue that was rapidly forming. Next we finally get a waitress who looks and tells me no one has made a note of the change 15 minutes of standing there watching her run round desperately trying to make a table. Even got the emergency seats out. Then the waitress plus another appear politely argue at the terminal that she was looking in the wrong place. Then we got seated. From there on in the waitress was brilliant but was blatantly run ragged. I'll go back but I'll be hoping for an improvement
Not a bad place for breakfast. There's plenty of room and the staff are helpful and accommodating. The value for money is pretty good, but as you would expect you aren't going to get gourmet food here well not in my opinion at least. Still the food didn't disappoint for what it was and the staff were excellent.
Happy customer!! Just had a lovely meal here, food good and service excellent. Our waitress Charlotte made you feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend and definitely go back!!
The bar was sticky, the ladies had no loo roll in the holders only loose, the orange fabric on the seats had dirty black marks on, shelves in the dining area had a visable layer of dust and their were cobwebs on the window sill. The paintwork is tatty, floors dirty and the whole place looks like it could do with a deep clean. Food was mediocre, I could not eat the sweetcorn as it was sodden and mushy. The waiting staff did not check back on the food and we were distracted by the loud music and extractor fan coming from the kitchen. We would not visit again.
