We arrived just after 10am and were seated on the terrace straight away. This is a popular place and it can get quite busy. The ladies were friendly, chatty and talked us through the specials for brunch. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The perfect poached eggs. Can't wait to come back to try the evening menu!
First time stopping into this wonderful little cafe on the edge of the river in the heart of St. Ives. The staff were welcoming, efficient, and perfectly attentive. The building and the cafe inside was stylish and chic. I ordered Moroccan mint tea to start, and then added the chicken sandwich and crispy herbed potatoes from the Brunch menu with the citrus mayo on the side. The chicken for the sandwich is marinaded in a beautiful sauce, then pan fried to perfection. Probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a very long time! Definitely adding this cafe to my list to return to on occassion.
I had a crab fritatta and it was very good despite not much crab coming through The lemon and and ginger tea was not hot so it was disappointing The service was good and its good that there's a socket for lifesaving charge up It was very busy around 9 till 12 when I was there and it was incredibly noisy on the ground floor. Every table seems to be speaking so loudly for some reason. I'd probably go again only when it isn't busy. I only got to appreciate the nice background music just approaching noon when people left
My friend and I turned up on a Saturday lunch hour and were fortunate to be placed in a seat with a view across the river through a beautiful Old Bay window. We drank tea and talked. Hood company, untrusted in a wonderful place.Food: 5/5
The River Terrace experience was let down by poorly executed “high end food”: soggy fried chicken rushed out of the kitchen? overly sweet bacon jam more jam than bacon and maple syrup that was also sickly sweet would work if the other flavours were not also sweet. Add to that a waffle which was somehow dry and nothing to write home about. £14 not well spent. London prices, not London quality on this occasion. I am sure I’ll receive a telling off from management for this honest opinion of what was purchased and served.
Very quirky little place that I've been meaning to visit for quite some time. Staff are extremely friendly and even on the cold spring day that we visited, they kindly provided us with blankets so that we could still sit outside and enjoy the views. Cocktails and cakes were the menu for the afternoon and both were delicious as well as beautifully present.
We stop in to enjoy the New Year’s Day sunshine. Great little spot by the river on St Ives. Nice cocktails and beers plus the food was great, this was the confit duck and it was very nice. The staff are also really friendly. Will be visiting again in a slightly warmer day maybe
Dined by the river's edge. Fantastic menu, food was incand great, friendly service too. Portions were generous, was a 20 min wait on food for a large group but it all arrived freshly cooked together & no problems. Clean plates all round & we'll defo visit again!!
We loved this place! It was brilliant. The food was beautifully presented and tasted phenomenal. The portions were more than ample. The service was excellent and the staff friendly and down to earth. The toilet facilities were really good to! We would highly recommend it and will visit again when we are next in St. Ives.
Just popped in for a cup of tea. Sat outside as I had the dog with me and ordered a mint tea. The staff were very kind and looked after my dog whilst I went to the bathroom. Lovely little outdoor area beside the river.Service: 5/5
