I've been going here often for my Persian food ingredients and recently bought some of their pistachios and cashews. Unfortunately, they were infested with larva/moths, and we've had a pantry moth problem ever since. A true nightmare. I told the owner I think he was the owner! and he disregarded it and said it's normal. Be VERY careful purchasing any of the open food items from them. Not only are they pricey but they will come with guests and infest your home and closet. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Go to Al Baydar or Kourosh on North End Road instead.
Many complain about the price here. Yes there is a new sweet shop in Finchley, cheaper, but the quality at Agha Reza's is the BEST. If you want to save a few pound go Finchley, if you want quality and taste come here. I spent £22.50 and I am more than happy, will come back for more.
I went there alone. I spoke to a member of staff to take photo of their products to send to my family, and ask them to choose what they want. He gently gave me the permission to do so. My wife asked me to buy some fruit roll-ups, and sweets for the Nowrouz celebration. I found quite limited variety of the products, however the taste is good enough to make me recommend this place.
I am disgusted how conning they are. They removed one layer of this Sohan and put the seal back on. It’s theft. Their products are always 3 times more expensive than other shops but this??? Disgusting how fraudulent they are SHAME ON YOU. They wouldn’t give money back either. My poor daughter went there not knowing the con artists she was dealing with
We travelled to London for a day trip and decided to buy some Sangak bread to bring back home. £15 for six breads as the owner claimed they were baked fresh on the day. Unfortunately the breads were too old and not worth a penny. The staff are very persuasive trying to sell as much as possible, so its very difficult to have a relaxed browsing in the shop. Every time we bought pastries, the weight was more than asked. I will try other shops next time in London.
They have fresh pastries made on site, and the best bit about it was I was offered to try some before I bought. They even had a baker at the back, making a large birthday cake. Very warm welcoming patisserie. Highly recommend.
Worst cake ever. Really badly made. Stuck several pieces of whole walnuts in the middle, just slapped them between the sponge and cream. The walnuts were really bad quality too, the ones where the skin peels off. The cream was horrifying to the eye. If you want a Persian cake and order a Persian cake, wouldn't you be upset at getting an Indian cake? It was just so much dye poured into the cream. The sponge was not a sponge. There is a reason why it was sponge cake - KEIK Esfanji. It was like chewing plastic - think GYM MATS - and there was sooo much cream that I believe that the cream was covering the mistakes of the cake. Blergh. There was so much cream that you could use it instead of cement to build a house.
If you love Iranian food, this is the place to go to. Only issue is it's expensive. For food you pay less than 1pound in Iran you have to pay 5 x more.
Shockingly overpriced. I felt ripped off. When I questioned price woman on till was so rude and made me feel like I was being a nuisance. Nothing is price tagged which is a bit suspicious in my opinion. Such a shame.
After while we decided broke diet and buy some pastry my Friend who went to the shop, explained us two old guys choice behalf my friend and forced him to buy what they choose, after we tried the things we found out all stuff they chosen was poising. We put a way all.
