Had a fabulous meal at the Red Squirrel today. The staff were amazing and couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. Didn’t book but managed to fit us in. Dealt with allergies without a fuss and fussy eaters too. Food was superb as well as service. Thank you for a stress free family meal out. Needed to stay close to a local family wedding. Couldn’t fault the rooms, very clean, comfy beds and generally a good place to stay. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was great, good choice of full cooked breakfast, pancakes and general cereals, fruit, croissants etc. staff very friendly and helpful too. Good stay all round. Rooms: Nice quiet and clean rooms

Warm welcome on arrival, we came with the intention of using a discount that we received through the post but advised only useable through the week hadn’t checked. Ordered a chicken and mushroom pie and the cowboy burger- both of which were yummy- well cooked and presented. Staff were very polite and well spoken. Would doing here again.
First time I have been in a very long time. Very wet Wednesday evening. It's been updated since my last visit. Games corner. Etc. We arrived after 7pm. It was busy. Waited to be shown a table. Given a run down on how to order....similar to Weatherspoons. Table was clean but held steady with beermats. Ordered at the bar, sharing nachos and a couple of burgers, 1 without the pork The food was good. Unfortunately, both burgers served with bacon. This was taken back, and a new burger. Overall it was a good evening but nothing to get too excited about.
Have been coming here for food for a while, the staff are always friendly, attentive and nothing is too much for them. Food is always delicious, well cooked and presented. Fantastic value for money. Pub/restaurant is always very clean, warm and inviting. Can honestly say my family and I won't be going anywhere else for food.Service: 5/5
Had to book at the last minute due to unavailability at my chosen hotel. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised, given the reasonable price. You actually have to go into the Red Squirrel pub to collect the room key. The service was very friendly and the pub itself was clean and quite nice inside. The hotel room was fairly basic but clean, comfortable and very warm. Very good value for money. I decided to have breakfast in the Red Squirrel the following morning. There was a choice of continental breakfast and / or breakfast from the menu. Aidan was a super chap. Very friendly and attentive and made me feel very welcome. I’d also like to give my compliments to Aidan the chef who did a very nice hearty, Scottish fry-up. If you’re looking for something simple that’s good value for money, you really can’t go wrong here!
Great location, lovely hotel rooms. The rooms were warm and comfortable. Quiet and well located for sightseeing the area. All the staff that we met were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Restaurant was good quality food at reasonable prices. We ended up eating there all 3 nights we stayed. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend Rooms: Rooms were comfy, clean and warm. Extra pillows were supplied which was fantastic. Tea and coffee facilities and room cleaning when wanted. Food & drinks: Restaurant had fantastic choices and good choice of drinks. Good quality food.
Friendly and very helpful staff You can order via scanning a QR code or at the bar. We ordered the steaks, rump and sirloin. Cooked to perfection and delicious. Compliments to the chef! As we were stopping at the lodge next door we also received 20% discount. The prices were very reasonable anyway. We would definitely return
