Okay place to stay for a couple nights. The rooms are clean but need some love, they seem quite aged. They seem to accept partying groups and tolerate them being loud and obnoxious in the outdoor sitting area. People were drunk and yelling in the middle of the night. They also left a bunch of garbage on the terrace and it stayed there way into the next morning before being cleaned up. They also charge you for breakfast, which was disappointing. They do at least have a few vegan options and plant based milk. It's about 25 minutes away from the central train station if you're walking, the way isn't so pedestrian friendly but it's doable.
The decor is very tired and could make use of an upgrade. Breakfast, being looked after by Sam and Carol was a five star experience. The ladies were fantastic, helpful and so friendly. Becky at the bar was also lovely . What the hotel lacks in, is more than made up for by the quality of the staff. Rooms: We had a king room. It was clean and looked after. The bed was enormous, but a little low. It could have done with higher bases. The shower was adequate.
The Hotel is clean and the staff are over the top to help you for any problem. I would say that the rooms would need some sort of ventilation like air conditioning or fan. The food is excellent the bathroom would need a little refresh like the shower. For the rest evry thing is great. I would recommend to anyone. Dale. F. Overall, everything was quite satisfactory, with just a couple of inconveniences. First, the location could have been better if the hotel were on the other side of the river. Second, there was a £10 charge for 24-hour parking.
Low quality hotel filled with stag party groups. Not centrally located. You can walk to town within 20 mins. It’s close to the millennium bridge. Breakfast is very average. The rooms are very basic, the beds are small and uncomfy, the lighting is terrible.
Attacked by bedbugs - no accountability taken by the hotel. During the second day after the first night I noticed that I started to get an allergic reaction in my face so I found a mirror and saw I had bug bites all over my face. I returned to the hotel and had a look at my upper body which was also attacked. I went to the reception to tell them I suspected they had bedbugs as the bite area and pattern resembles those of bedbugs. And I requested a new room. The night clerk was super nice and got me a new room. The manager and day staff on the other hand not so much. Despite it being extremely obvious that I was bitten by something, they said it must have been an allergic reaction to a cleaning agent. Had they just admitted that I was bitten by any kind of bug and had reimbursed the stay, i wouldn’t have left an angry review. But taking zero responsibility, that is just not okay. I do not recommend staying here.
Great location. Fairly cheap. Bed wasn't the most comfortable and the room was far too hot. Staff pleasant and very accommodating to out dogRooms: 3/5
Friendly staff and clean and comfortable. Decent breakfast. Location isn't to far away from Newcastle centre although it isn't the best looking area but that isn't the hotels fault.Rooms: 5/5
Great location, 0.5-2km from all main sights. We booked the 2-person bed + sofa bed room for 3 persons for GBP120 per night Friday and Saturday nights. It will do OK, but the sofa bed is of terribly bad quality. You can feel the springs through the thin mattress and with every move the bed squeaks, to the chagrin of your roommates. So better not having to depend on the sofa bed, then you are fine. The noise during the weekend was manageable. I guess it depends a lot on your floor neighbours and how far removed your room is from the lifts. Internet was very unstable and of poor speed.
Ramada Encore, Gateshead, has been my home away from home for almost a year now. Hailing from Scotland and working in the North East of England isn't everyone's basket, but when you're dealing with a team like Richard the Manager has, it makes it worth while. Leanne and the team at the front office & reception provide excellent, always welcoming friendly service, and the breakfast team of Jen, Carol & Sam really set up your day with great service and a bit of banter thrown in. Great team! Rooms: Rooms always clean & neat and provide the necessities.
