The Inn itself is a converted barn incorporating a bar, restaurant, hotel and conference & banqueting facilities. It has been recently refurbished whilst still maintaining its traditional charm and character, with its beautiful stone walls and original arches.

The Angel View Inn has plenty of free car parking and is located just off Durham Road (A167) and close to the A1. It is conveniently close to the commercial centres of Newcastle, Durham, Gateshead and Sunderland.

Warm friendly welcome from staff at check-in. Lovely clean room and bathroom, Idropped a star for the very squeaky floorboards in our room, sorry. A member of the party has severe food allergies, these were coped with without fuss or drama, unlike in other places. Waiting staff were excellent. Excellent quality and variety on the menu and good value too. Similarly with breakfast. Rooms: Well furmished & well appointed room & bathroom Food & drinks: Great variety on menu, well prepared & well presented food, great value. Good choice at the bar. Noteworthy details: Across the sometimes busy road from Angel of the North, nearby ped x-ing.Large car- park and easy access to adjacent grass meadow for dog walking.
I stayed there for 3 days. Room was small, clean but it was bit damp, no ventilation and windows, heating was switched off and it was cold at night. The staff was friendly they did their best to make my visit comfortable. I am not to keen to visit again I prefer rooms without damp and with some ventilation. The view outside hotel are nice. There are few walking trails nearby.
Food was good, nice selection of different dishes. Limited selection for our daughter who requires a gluten free diet - however she was happy with her gluten free pasta!Service: 4/5
Lovely little stopover for the night.. Ideal location for the road network north or south, Short run out to Newcastle centre or the Metrocentre only 10mins up the road.. Food from the restaurant was tasty and well presented and the staff were very welcoming.. Will definitely stay again when in the area...
Lovley staff and amazing food, the deal for breakfast for only £8:50, is simply fantastic. The reason for the rooms four stars is the noise from the fan from the kitchen, but like white noise. Highly recommended place to stay. Rooms: The layout of the rooms work well Safety: Quite safe place away from main road Food & drinks: Perfect service amazing prices and food is top notch mmmmmmmm
On ringing before booking was advised couple of steps to reception, as we are disabled, untrue the hotel is full of stairs everywhere we went, breakfast 1st morning was cold, 2nd morning was all finished and closed been told breakfast was 8am till 10am . Not told 7am till 9am on a weekday , fortunately the lady that was there helped us out and got our breakfast definitely a different cook was lovely. Thank you, cook, and thank you to the lady who did all she could for us . So to say, won't be rebooking, please, any disabled people double-check with stairs, etc . The room was ok but full of dust on top of wardrobe hanging over, not good for people with copd or any breathing problems like myself
We're able to get a room at short notice and indeed booked each day for three nights. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Ate in the restaurant one night and the food was very good and plenty of it. The place is a bit dated but the location is good. Would definitely recommend.
Met up with friends to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary. Evening meal with wine overnight stay and breakfast. Was great Rooms: 3/5
Bottomless brunch is by far the best we’ve ever done, absolute quality for money and the drinks are endless, Tom behind the bar is a legend nothing was a bother to him, we will definitely be backService: 5/5
Amazing Angel burger loved it. We had food after our visit to the Angel of the North heading to Scotland.Rooms: 4/5
