I ordered a veggie Singapore noodles, satay squid and pepper salt tofu online. The food is very good value and the portion is big. Thanks for the bag of free crackers. From order to delivery, the food arrived at my home within 20 mins. Will order again.

I am a Rotherhithe local and ordered from Rainbow many times in the past and did not have issues. It used to be my favourite Chinese! However, the last time I ordered 4th August 2022 the food never arrived. As the food was over 90 minutes late and the driver had went home for the evening, the lady told me she had to cancel my order and instead to quote my name and address on my next order. When I called today to place my order, the person on the phone told me that the food WAS delivered on 4th August. I provided my name, address, date of order and proof of purchase via JustEat. They refused to accept the order without charge even though I had evidence of my order not arriving. I will not return to Rainbow due to the bad customer service - this is very disappointing as my family and I used to place large orders every week. I now have to find a new Chinese spot! Be careful ordering from here!
Went here for Mother’s Day 11/3/18 Our first time under new management and the return of the Buffet Some small substitutes from usual selections, no S&P Squid or Shredded Chilli Chicken but rice and chow mien dishes are more flavourful. Desserts: fruit selection or chocolate Swiss roll...no ice cream machine which was disappointing. Very please to have the buffet back, staff were excellent and even gave us a mother’s day rose at the end, thank you very much.
Went for the all you can eat buffet this used to be great but tonight very disappointing. Most of the trays were empty and food that was there was tepid I asked for duck but it never appeared, it seemed they was filling all the cheaper items like onion rings, chips and mushrooms. We was thinking about having a family birthday party here but after tonight we will be giving the Rainbow a miss. Such a shame.
Had takeaway from Rainbow Chinese for the first time and loved the food. The egg fried rice is a must have indeed! Dim sum was yummy! Only would have loved if the seasame prawn on toast were smaller so that they became crisper on all sides. They were slightly soft in the middle. Will definitely order again.
The food isn't bad but the service is awful. We ordered food for delivery only for it not to be delivered. We called and the staff apologised and said our next order was free due to the mixup. However when we called 2 weeks after for our free order the staff argued and said they made the delivery etc etc. I will not be back
Was extremely disappointed I came to this restaurant a few years back and really enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately I was so upset after going here this evening the buffet is £10.99 witch for a buffet is good pricing but upon experiencing the food I begrudgingly handed over the money all the food out looked like it had been sitting there all day and was dried out my partner decided to try the chicken curry witch was stone cold and parts of the chicken in it tasted undercooked by this point my partner couldn't take any more and we decided to pay and leave if I had my way we would not have payed but my partner don't like making a seen. We are now at burger king
CURRENT REVIEW:- I'm sorry to say that this place has gone down hill, tumbled down in fact, since new management took over recently. It used to be really good. Now it's average, at best. The food is nowhere near as tasty as it used to be. And, the staff are a but dodgy in my opinion. Yesterday I gave them another chance after a previous disappointing meal, and picking up my food I asked if a certain sauce was included; they told me "no", and tried to get me to spend more money only £1, but it's the principle! to get a small tub when the old Rainbow would have thrown it in for free!, however, when I got home and unpacked the food the sauce was already there. Hmmmn... Left a bitter taste in my mouth, which unfortunately their new menu could not remove. What a shame! MY PREVIOUS REVIEW:- Definitely one of the best Chinese takeaways in London for regular local Chinese food. All the dishes I've had were consistently good. Also convenient locatiol, right next to Rotherhithe station.
