Popped in here one evening on the way back from a day out. Normally when I go past, it's always closed, but I saw someone going in so thought I may as well check it out. Was a nice cosy place, decent beer options on tap, although a couple of barrels were off when I ordered. Staff were nice and friendly. Can't comment on the food as I was only here for a pint.
Been a few times it's such a good night out, had food there it was hot and tasty. The entertainment is second to none. The sound system and lighting and stage is very professional, the owners, staff and hosts are very welcoming and it's madness but in a good fun way. Really lovely people and it shows because the customers in there are also lovely , everyone is chatty and up for a laugh . Top tier pub
I'm only giving a 4 star on food because they don't offer a xtra xtra large carvery with loads of meat lol jokes aside the food is really nice price is reasonable and staff are friendly Food: 4/5
Unfortunately the bar staff are very judgemental, if you aren’t a local they accuse you of all sorts this has happened to me and my husband on two occasions now. Won’t be coming back staff are rude and the older man came over shouting his mouth off at me saying I was brining my own vodka in when I was clearly drinking a bottle of cider brought from the bar instead of approaching the male member of the group who he thought was drinking it he continued to raise his voice and become aggressive with me.
Until last night, I’d go along with all the 5 star reviews. The bar staff are great, food is okay, a great atmosphere. But last night, I ordered a steak sandwich at 6:15. By about 7:00 no sign of it, so I asked. All staff were at the bar as there was a large party in pre booked, so perhaps staffing appropriately would have been a good idea. No big deal, I was there until about 10:30 with family and friends, so a little longer wasn’t going to hurt. 8:00 still no sign. Coming up on 2 hours now for a minute steak. I asked again. It wouldn’t be long. 8:30 asked again. Just about to do it. 8:45 one of my party asked as they were at the bar. They were just about to do the potatoes for the chips not sure if that message reached me correctly. 9:00 it will be ready soon. 9:15. 3 HOURS after I ordered I told the lady behind the bar to cancel it and I’d have my money back. It’s ready now, she told me. I said no thank you, 3 hours was too long to have waited and I’d have my money back. About 5 minutes later, the owner of the place put the money in my hand, turned his back and walked off. No apology. Didn’t even look me in the eye. Had he apologised, I’d have still been unhappy, but I’d have accepted that, as occasionally mistakes happen. But to repeatedly fail over 3 hours and not even have the manners to say sorry at any point speaks volumes. Absolutely disgraceful service, and equally disgraceful behaviour.
Great pub family owners and a great atmosphere well worth the visitService: 4/5
Great boozer, first class real ale and as far as a Sunday dinner goes nothing better if u like traditional home cooked food. £10 for a huge dinner can't imagine anyone managing the extra large offering for another couple of quid. I regard myself as an accomplished cook and could do no better myself. You must eat here and I'm told on good authority the Thursday fish and chips night is better still ! Wow.
Hi all my parents Elaine and dave use this lovely place on a regular. The owners Karen and Colin I been told are very welcoming and lovely They have GREAT FOOD!!!! Well worth coming They also help raise money for charity Thank you
A truly exceptional pub, the fish and chips is the best I've ever had in my life - I reckon Gordon Ramsay would even be impressed. Reasonably priced, lovely friendly welcoming people, karaoke thrown in and I can't wait to go back! If I could give them more than five stars I would!
Brilliant old fashioned run pub, no idiots, if customers are found to be using drugs on the premises they are removed, hassle free night out and the food is always amazing, from a simple cob to a carvery that is the best I've ever eaten, special requests are also catered for if the staff are aware, occasionally there might be a small wait at the bar or for food but it is what it is night out or food it's a great place Kid-friendliness: Family run pub that makes all welcome, young or old
