Best fish and chips I have had in years. We both had the haddock and chips special which included mushy peas and a pot of tea for £12. Fish was beautifully cooked with crispy batter and delicious fish. Chip portion just the right size not piled on at the expense of a small fish. Service could of been a little better but they were very busy on the day. Would highly recommend. Great value for money.
Good fish and chips. Pleasant setting. All recently renovated. Good toilets. One point they need to be ready for under fives who should get their drinks when the adult teas arrive not when their child bites arrive . Small people are not good at waiting.
Yummy fish and chips. Take out sat outside on the benches It was busy, but got served pretty quick. I would def come back again if I'm in back in Amble. Paid just over 10 quid for a large fish & chips. Well worth it. The only thing missing was it being served in a newspaper.Food: 5/5
£14 for a small fish and a few chips. £9 for kids portion. Our daughter wanted gravy and chips which cost £6.50! We ordered 2 fish specials and gravy and chips with one can of Tango. Cost just under £40! Food was average, fish fell apart when trying to pick it up with fork, portions small and prices way too high. And staff stood chatting among themselves, slagging off the boss and complaining about having to wash dishes and work weekends. Not great customer service.
Very nice, fish fresh ,chips good and nice clean toilets, £12 for haddock, chips and peas and pot of tea. Would have been 5 stars as portion a little small. Vegetarian options: None
My husband and I both ordered the special and we also ordered a kids meal of fish fingers for my child. Special was advertised as haddock and chips, mushy peas and pot of tea at £12. Child’s meal of fish fingers and chips was £9. The meals arrived and they were tiny. Both pieces of haddock were part portions, my chip portion was smaller than my sons child portion of chips. Peas were a small cup of mushy peas. The fish finger meal was 2 fish fingers, a half portion of chips and a cup of cheap juice. Ketchup was extra at 40p a portion. The food tasted fine, but the portion size was tiny. Vastly overpriced. Will not be returning.
Visited during the Christmas school holidays, the beginning of January 2023 whilst we were minding the 2 grand-children for the day. After a walk on the beach, called in here for lunch. Clean, well presented and tidy café attached to a fish and chip shop. We had all decided what we wanted prior to our visit so did not check the menu on arrival. Not too busy and found seating easily. Ordered 2 adult fish and chips, a childs battered sausage meal and a smokie smoked sausage meal. 2 childrens drinks, a can of coke and a pot of tea for one. I know that during this current economic situation prices have risen considerably, I was still shocked to be charged £53 for this chip shop meal. Food was nice but it was so expensive we won't be visiting here again. What3words address ///riskiest.because.balloons
Absolute disgrace, £9 for a child's meal that comprised of a very small burnt sausage and a few chips with a drink that in shops cost 10p, no flexibility when ordering food and drink set menu it's tea or nothing. There was a few ppl at the time complaining about food and prices, suffice to stay I'll never go back.
4 stars for the fish & chips which were decent, cooked well and crispy. Went to this place as it looked really popular, people with white box of chips everywhere around the harbour.
Excellent fish and chips with lovely cup of tea. Great value recommend the special Friendly staff with a very good service even when it was getting busy in cafe.Food: 5/5
