I used to frequent the puzzle a few years ago and called in to see it still going strong. A fantastic place for live music and a cracking pint to boot. Well worth a visit especially for the live gigs. They do not serve food though just the usual pub snacks.
The Puzzle is a community pub with an unbeatable atmosphere. For a small pub — it's reputation is mighty. It's a place where everyone is welcome.nThis 17th‑century pub is home to some exceptional live music; you're likely to discover some great bands long before anyone else! But it doesn't cater solely for up-and-coming bands...nRecently, Chris Martin from Coldplay cycled along literally to the venue to play an impromptu gig. Why? Simply because he'd heard how amazing it is. He wasn't disappointed.nnI almost forgot to mention that it also serves great beer! The Puzzle is home to some excellent local ales and rotating guest taps. The bar is always well stocked with some well‑kept cask beers. The staff are super-knowledgeable and care about what they pour.nnThe Puzzle also produces some unexpectedly tasty food, too!! Should you find yourself sat in the beer garden, lit by twinkly faerie-lights, surrounded by all this wonderment you'll understand why so many regard The Puzzle as their local — even when, like me, they live many miles away from the place.nnCall in for a pint. Bring your partner. Bring your partners dog and just breathe it in. Your soul will thank you for it.
Brilliant community pub this with great live music on regularly, great selection of cask/keg ales and ciders rotated frequently and at great prices, staff are amazing and make you feel welcome, massive beer garden that is partially covered so the weather can do what it wants, a must if you are in the area, keep up the great work guys

Went to a gig, Dead Belgian. Great band, the venue is small, intimate is probably what they say. Beer was outstanding at good prices. Friendly staff, bohemian good natured audience.
