As a York girly I’ve tried various gyms over the years - Roko, fitness first and the latest one JD gym in Clifton but I keep coming back to Pure Gym! The vibe is friendly and NOT intimidating, there’s a women’s area when I don’t want to use the main area and I just love their classes - wish there were more variety during the 9-10am slot but appreciate it’s not really peak time. All in all, it’s a great gym, the staff/ trainers are really genuine and friendly and I’ll continue using it :
The gym is huge with an extensive range of kit, cool climate to work out and helpful staff. Changing rooms clean and tidy with ample lockers all in good working order, unlike some gyms I have visited
I have been to 4 different PureGyms in the last few months and this one is by far the best - I was greeted by Jake who made an effort to engage in conversation, the female changing rooms smelt nice and were clean, the gym itself was clean and then when I left Ria cheerfully spoke to me as well. While some of the equipment is a little worn in places, the friendliness and cleanliness of the gym are top notch!
Pure gym york is great - staff are friendly and smiley too. I’m quite confident when doing workouts however they have a nice area just for woman and its my favourite!! Definitely recommend. Also do student discounts if you have uni days which i really recommend because its so affordable :
What can I say? The last time I went to PureGym I wasn’t very impressed. I struggled to get on to the equipment and I found it full of youngsters, which put me off going back—but that was years ago.nI visited again recently and wow, you have really upped your game. Great facilities! I especially love the women’s-only area; it has far more equipment than other gyms I’ve been to that offer this. The gym is nicely busy, with machines well spaced so you don’t feel on top of each other.nI’m definitely considering leaving my current gym and becoming a full-time member. Well done!
