The Team at Haxby Pilates are by far one of the most comprehensively trained group of instructors I have experienced. Aside from many being fully certified as Comprehensive Instructors the Gold Standard with Balanced Body Pilates many have additional skills and backgrounds in sport, physiotherapy, dance and Somatic movement! If you haven’t tried them out don’t delay. Whilst reformer Pilates is a growing trend in the industry seek out the best! Haxby Pilates! Highly recommend!
I’ve been coming to Haxby Pilates studio for around 2 1/2 years since I moved up to York. I had previously done may Pilates but hadn’t tried Reformer Pilates and I absolutely love it. I have attended reformer classes with Marina, Meg and James who are all so welcoming and friendly, and brilliant and attentive instructors. The classes are nice and small so you can ask for help if and when you need it. You are able to focus on improving and progressing and as well as learning new exercises, always taught with great support and encouragement. I always feel great after a class and thoroughly enjoy the classes thanks to the lovely team at Haxby Pilates Studio
I just love this studio. Having moved to York and desperately trying to find a great reformer class, I came across Haxby Pilates. My first session with James was brilliant and I quickly joined a class. I've now been going for around 2 years and not just enjoy the new challenges each of the teachers do in every class but the other attendees are all really friendly. I also appreciate that the classes are small in number as that helps the teachers keep an eye on each of us to ensure we're doing each exercise correctly. Great place and definitely recommend to anyone of any level - there are loads of classes to suit any ability!
I started reformer pilates at the Haxby Studio around two years ago as a complete novice. I had some 1 to 1 classes at first to get the basics & then started attending the group classes. The instructors are friendly, hugely experienced and so encouraging. Class sizes are small which means that you get plenty of attention and guidance - so important in learning proper technique and form. The studio is such a happy & friendly place with all welcome. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
I absolutely loved my antenatal Pilates sessions with Clare. I was determined to keep active during my pregnancy but wasn’t sure how to do so safely and in the best way. Clare’s excellent knowledge really helped me grow in confidence and she was great at tailoring each session to my specific needs, even just listening to what I felt like working on each week. I’m so grateful to Clare for keeping me moving throughout my pregnancy and for teaching me relaxation techniques which were so helpful during labour!
