Beautiful boutique jewellers.  If you are a magpie and are drawn to shiny things you will love this gem of a shop.  There are rings, necklaces, bracelets in silver and gold.  Unique designs featuring quality gem stones.  If you are looking for something special that is not found in every other jewellery shop then you have found the perfect place!  Everyone is friendly and genuinely want to help you find that perfect piece.  Better still if you have a design in mind, you can talk to the jewellers about having something custom made.  Broken a precious piece of jewellery - you guessed it - they can mend it!  This place is just wonderful - just visit - you won't be disappointed 🤗

The completely brilliant Pruden and Smith crafted the most beautiful engagement ring for my, now, wife. Topaz set in a white gold ring in such a way that you can see the stunning stone from not just the top, but also the side. It has been her pride and joy ever since... and not only that, they had to specially craft a matching white gold wedding ring - no easy task given the unique shape of the engagement ring. Thanks a million Pruden and Smith for playing such an important part in our wedding!

Nearly everything on display are real gems, diamonds and pearls, beautifully crafted, in delicate settings. we have always had excellent service: I took a bracelet in bits, precious because it was from my husband who had just died. It was not made in this store, and it was beautifully restrung. I love their showroom, and was once taken downstairs where the jewellery is made: what an intricate place! I have always been treated with courtesy, even over small items. I was there just recently, and looked at the different cases: I would have chosen something from each of them, if I had the possibility!  Well done, Pruden and Smith!

Pruden and Smith created a lovely art-deco style half eternity ring for me, designed to my specifications using old brilliant cut diamonds taken from a very worn ring owned by my husband's great grandmother. 

I was initially quite wary of what they might do, having already been quoted an astronomical amount for the job by another local jewellery maker. The Pruden and Smith quote was a fraction of this original quote, but the many glowing reviews I found here and elsewhere online, plus the friendliness of the staff soon put me at ease. 

They did an absolutely fabulous job - I now have the most beautiful and unique piece of hand made jewellery which incorporates part of our family history - sitting on my finger. It's only been a couple of days since I brought it home, but it has already received so many compliments.

I love this shop! It is how all jewellery shops should be. It is quaint and friendly with very beautiful jewellery and, irrespective of price, you can’t help but find something you love here. Alternatively, they make the most unique and lovely pieces. They have great sales too and you are always welcome to go through the bargain basket. I bought the most darling pair of silver earrings whilst holidaying in Ditchling a couple of years ago and later saw them in white gold and diamonds in Vogue for £2000+. I was dead chuffed! The owner is such a character - very charming and approachable - and will show you through the workrooms which is such a treat. There is no pressure to buy - a big plus in my books. This gem of a shop is a ‘must visit’.
