Terrible. First off, the fire alarm goes off nearly 10 times a day. It’s super frustrating. Insulation is terrible, bring your own mini radiator. I’d say avoid this accom at all costs. “Cheap for a student accom” but you’ll soon understand WHY. Another they managed to take away 4k out of my account when they were only entitled to take 2k. I had to wait 3weeks to recoup the money they had taken.
I stayed at prospect point for 3 weeks in June 2022. My experience was very good. The security team, the receptionist and the incharge Rob were all very nice to me. They addressed any concerns I had quickly and made sure I was comfortable. I initially got an ensuite but the room mates didn’t keep the common areas clean so I asked to be moved to a studio. The studio was unbelievably spacious and beautiful for the price. It was clean. The building overall could be cleaner but I faced no major issues. It has exits on all sides so you can easily go to any part of the town. Bus stops are close by. E-scooters are parked right outside the main gate which I used a lot while I was in Liverpool. I don’t know why others have posted such negative reviews but my stay was very good. I was able to study well because it felt just like home. There was some construction going on at europa at that time but didn’t bother much since I was out during the day. Wonderful staff, good sized rooms and ideal location.
Security team, housekeeping team and reception staff/advisors, both past and present, were amazing. Always polite, friendly and if they had the time and permission, they would chat to you and provide any support they could provide. However, Prospect Point has, in my opinion, serious managerial issues. It is very clear from the beginning that some supervisor and managers are purely concerned about money. The fact that this is very clearly displayed by some supervisors and managers is worrying to say the least. I feel this is the reason my complaints regarding flatmates bringing guests in during lockdown were not followed through appropriately. I am vulnerable to illness, I also complained about noise/mess that was created. A few emails were sent by the reception staff and one Service & Sales Supervisor had a conversation with one of the flatmates about the guest policy as far as I am aware. I later found out that the reason the reception staff could only send emails was because someone had a "ban" on other staff members reporting covid regulation breaches. The Service & Sales Supervisor also told me to call security to report it when it was actually happening but I feel she failed to grasp that you could not hear my flatmates outside of the flat, I was concerned that this would result in further issues for myself which would also not be addressed appropriately. I moved into a different flat and the staff weren't informed that I was supposed to have help with moving, therefore I ended up moving everything myself. I believe it took around 8-10 hours and a lot of pain as moving everything myself exacerbated my physical illnesses and I suffered from a severe pain episode which lasted around two weeks before returning to my "normal" level of pain. The high turnover rate with staff, many left or transferred due to how the site was ran. The accounts team is appalling. I was entitled to £500 cashback, what I was not made aware of was that if a student has cashback, if they pay by direct debit the whole rent for that instalment is taken from the students’ bank account and they then must wait for their cashback amount to be refunded. Insects - personally, I have not had to deal with an infestation some other flats have, but I have had a few Silverfish in my bathroom, this was dealt with rather quickly by the maintenance team, however, can be slow fixing things. Rent prices compared to facilities provided -The amount paid by students is extortionate due to the facilities. Couches and kitchen chairs are incredibly uncomfortable, so I spent most of my time in my bedroom. Laundry is expensive, which is why I am lucky to have the ability to get it done at a family members house. Bins during check out season - the site needs more general waste bins and/or skips during check out seasons as around June 4th, 2021, the bins would be completely full within a day and then students would pile bags and boxes of rubbish at the sides, or in front of the bins which led to an increase in seagulls and rats. For Prospect Point, security is split between at least two sites. Given where Prospect Point is located and that it mainly draws international students, I do not believe this is a safe security model to have in place. There is an A&E hospital within seconds from the accommodation which can draw unpleasant people into the area. There have been many times where I have been outside the gates of the accommodation and been made to feel uncomfortable by passers-by in the area. This is mainly due to sexual remarks made by drunks who either come from the hospital or the pub across from the accommodation. One situation led to me calling the Emergency Control Centre. I have concerns regarding how an international student would react in that situation as many prefer to keep to themselves and would not know who to contact for support in that situation. Students/residents technically not allowed to speak to staff in reception for more than 10 minutes without a pre-arranged appointment due to being a potential distraction to the staff.
Noisy, the sound insulation is really bad, you can genuinely hear what your roommates talking at the aisle. Some staffs are patient and helpful but others are just awful. Summer stay discount is not applicable to existing tenants, that's why I moved elsewhere once the tenancy ended.
1. They will charge directly from your card even if you have balance in your account, though refund is available it will take at least 2 weeks. 2. Working efficiency is unbelievably low, imagine a problem can't be solved for 2 weeks. They have different staffs in reception every day, everyone will say: "I pass it to xxx, they will do it for you" or "they will get it done by Wednesday/Friday", and when you ask them on that day, they just like repeaters keep saying the same thing. 3. 1 star for my memories in liverpool, 2 stars for reception's friendly attitude and one really good looking staff.
I had a room next to the main road so it was loud if i left my window open. The room was equipped with all the furniture i need. Had no problem at all living here for a year. Staffs were friendly and helpful. I didn’t use any maintenance service because nothing broke down. Only negative point was at the end of my tenancy, they said that I burnt their carpet with an iron. Surprisingly, i didn‘t even own an iron because i never had any t shirt or any apparel that requires ironing!! As a result, they took all my deposit. I looked up on the deposit protection scheme website which said that i could fight by sending them before and after photo of the room to prove that the carpet damage was not caused by me. Unfortunately, i didn‘t have those „before“ photo. However, i think i had a good comfortable year and should just let 200 pounds go. So if you are about to live here, make sure you record the condition of the room in details before moving in.
Do not live in the studios here. For the price you pay you will not get your money's worth and they are even increasing the price for next year. There are frequent power outages, the heating will stop working, and the water will stop working as well, meaning that the kitchen tap, bathroom tap, toilet, and shower do not work. This has happened 4 times in the past 2 months. Conveniently, these things only happen at night or on the weekends so you are unable to get in contact with any management. There is security on call during these hours but there is only so much they can do. I have called them multiple times for each problem but the response I always get is that no one can come out this late at night and that someone will come in the morning to have a look at the issue. This is completely unacceptable, us students pay a lot to be here and we should not have to endure power and water outages and not know when it will be fixed. We have lectures and other things to attend to and these are basic necessities that we should not have to worry about. Considering how often this happens, it is shameful that no measures have been put into place to ensure that if it does happen again, someone is on call 24/7 to come and fix the issue straight away. It is absolutely ridiculous that this is a recurring problem and nothing is being done about it. If you are considering staying here next year, don't. I'm not.
Maintenance of the grounds needs looking at but facilities and student room good.
Prospect Point is lovely; the location is great because you are just a walk away from town and Uni. There are food shops just around the corner so you don't have to go far to shop. The rooms are really nice, they're a good size for all your things, the kitchen is a bit small when everyone is cooking at the same time but I had a great time, my flat mates were nice and the onsite staff were helpful whenever I needed them.
was the worst 7 months of my life. Up points are that I met a good friend, but only 1. I received death threats from people in my flat and the staff did nothing, I found my self at the police station at 5am. The flat I was in was trashed twice and the staff did nothing about it. There is a massive drugs problem and the staff do nothing about it and people who abide by the rules suffer because of the ignorance of the staff. The turn stiles hardly ever work and when trying to get out with a massive suitcase they all just sit and watch and you get no help. I found some rats on the premises. And to top it off I left early and then came back to collect my stuff and I had to clear up someone elses mess for a full day on top of an 6 hour return drive, otherwise I wouldn't have got my deposit back. when I say bad I mean maggots and flies infested bad and the response from the staff was... Do you have any fly spray... Although its a good distance from town and arts university building.
