Was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews. However! What a delightful surprise... I'd booked with a friend and our dogs for one night .. the room was very spacious clean and looked like it had been recently decorated with a huge bathroom. The staff were very polite and helpful . The location of the hotel is perfect within walking distance to all the bars restaurants shops and the beach. Breakfast was a buffet style with lots of hot and cold choices. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely stay !
This place is fantastic...forget all the moaners ...they are probably old retirees who expect everything for nothing...nBuilding magnificent, spotless inside and out. Location right on Lord Street Central to everywhere.nIn terms of parking it's £6....and the receptionist reminded us...parking on site ...perfect !nThis hotel cost £55 a night ....what can you get for £55 a night ..probably costs you more to live at home
I booked a room at this hotel and, unfortunately, forgot to register my car for parking. I contacted the hotel as soon as I realised and was told they would look into it and get back to me. They never did. I followed up with another email – still nothing.nnWeeks later, I received a court letter with a fine that now costs more than the actual stay. When I contacted the hotel again, they simply said there was “nothing they could do” and that I should have kept chasing them. As if I have all day to follow up on something they initially promised to handle.nnThe room itself wasn’t worth the trouble either – the place smelled musty and felt damp, like something straight out of a haunted house show. Genuinely unpleasant.nnCustomer service was shockingly poor, the communication was nonexistent, and the entire experience was stressful and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely never again.
A big well maintained hotel! Couldn’t fault our stay, rooms are reasonably priced, comfortable/clean and a quiet nights sleep.nnBreakfast was lovely, buffet style, some cereals, juices and coffee machine. Pastries would have been nice as an option? If you book a room with no breakfast on arrival/check in you can pay for it at £9.95 pp. If you want to decide later it costs more, I believe it’s £12.95 pp.nnParking is £6 a day, pay at the desk on arrival. Secure large car park.nnWalking distance to shops, restaurants opposite too.nWill definitely be back if we are in the area.
One of the Worst Hotel Experiences Ever – Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!nnMy parents spent a weekend at the Prime of Wales Hotel in Southport, and they described it as one of the most miserable hotel stays they've ever had. From the moment they arrived, it felt more like a rundown care home than a hotel. The whole place was dated, depressing, and absolutely disgusting.nnThere was mould on the walls, a musty smell throughout, and the general cleanliness was shocking. They said the food was worse than hospital meals – bland, lukewarm, and clearly done on the absolute cheap.nnThey were expecting a relaxing break, but instead felt like they were trapped in an ageing nursing home. It was dull, lifeless, and totally uninviting.nnFrankly, it’s disgraceful to charge people for this kind of experience. If you’re looking for a pleasant, comfortable, or even just basic stay – avoid this place at all costs.
