A group of us recently stayed here.nThis place, although old fashioned, is lovely and clearly was once very grand.nThe staff are very friendly and professional.nIt was very clean throughout, and each of our rooms, although dated, had lovely modern bathrooms, which had obviously recently been refurbished.nWhilst we had a great time here, we would only stay again if they sorted the beds out.nNot one of us had a decent nights sleep as the beds were just so uncomfortable. Thankfully, we were only staying the one night which was just as well!nAll 8 of us, in four different rooms spread around the hotel, had what appears to be old wooden bunk bed styles of beds, each with relatively thin mattresses along with a mattress topper and quilts which only just reached the edges of the mattress.nObviously, we can't say what the beds are like in other rooms, but of the four rooms we stayed in, each of us had the same style of old rickety beds.nThis was such a shame as we all had a great time whilst there, chatting to other guests and enjoying the entertainment provided, we would be happy to stay again if the beds were more comfortable and more than happy to give a five star rating.
Had a lovely afternoon tea here and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a very cosy fire as you walked in and with the Christmas decorations it looked very festive and romantic. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going there again
Great location in the centre of the town, but the quality of the rooms are not the greatest, but ideal if just after an affordable bed for the night. Breakfast is over priced compared to some other hotels in the area like the premier inn for example. Member of staff on the reception 'coddie' i think they were called was very helpful.
Our room needed a little tlc Dinning/ breakfast area is tired looking . Food: just lacking bit of care and attention to detail fruit could be fresh NO need for tinned these days. Christmas deco ???Entrance and staff lovely. Prob wouldn't stay longer than 1 night
A very busy weekend with Rockers Reunited. Considering it was full to capacity and everyone wants feeding before the first band comes on at 7pm, I think the staff and in particular the kitchen team, coped admirably. Well done everyone, see you next year.
