The shop changed there are now more self checkout services than tills. Which is a lot faster than before. Still nice to drop in looking around lots of variety of clothes. Recently bought a Hello Kitty sweater which was £18 discounted for 10.
I recently visited the Primark store located at 212-218 Grange Road, Birkenhead, and had a generally positive experience. The store is well-stocked with a wide variety of fashionable and affordable clothing options, catering to different tastes and styles. The prices are very reasonable, which makes it a great place for budget-conscious shoppers. The layout of the store is spacious and easy to navigate, even during peak hours. I was impressed with the cleanliness and organization of the aisles, which made finding what I needed quite straightforward. The fitting rooms were also clean and well-maintained. The customer service was satisfactory. The staff members were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or find items. They managed to keep the queues at the checkout moving efficiently, which was much appreciated. Primark in Birkenhead is conveniently located near other shops and public transport. It's just a short walk from Birkenhead Central Station and close to several bus stops, making it accessible for those relying on public transport. Additionally, there are several other retail stores nearby, such as Superdrug, JD Sports, and New Look, which makes it a convenient one-stop shopping area. The only downside was that the store could get quite crowded, especially on weekends, which made the shopping experience a bit hectic. However, given the quality and price of the products, this is understandable. Overall, I would recommend this Primark store for its great value, variety, and decent customer service.
Was in twice today, was served by a lovely lady named Jo Mack. She couldn’t help me more and was so hospitable. Cant fault her one bit. Would definitely be back :

Normally, I would give the Birkenhead store a 4* rating, but I was in there earlier today & got a real shock!!! Although the shop has undergone a much needed makeover & it seems so much better organisation wise, it's such a shame what the bosses/management have done to the checkout area. There are now barriers separating cash checkouts, which are manned but there are only two, from self-servce checkouts, of which there were about ten. It looked so barren & sad not seeing a friendly staff member at the till & instead there was one lady assisting customers & showing them how to use the new self service points. Apparently the two remaining cash tills will also be used for returns aswell. I can just imagine the chaos this will cause in future especially at busy times like Christmas etc. I forgot to mention that one of these remaining cash checkouts used to be the Disabled till which I used a lot as Mum is in a chair & we used to be able to go straight there & get served. The Disabled sign is still there, but with these new barriers in place it will make queuing with a chair so awkward & what about people on mobility scooters? Primark is like all businesses now sadly, all about reducing staff & trying to force customers to use debit/credit cards. I for one don't like what has happened to the store & can see this backfiring. Primark was alway one of the most efficient shops in town & staff got the queues down very quickly. I doubt the higher ups will care for my opinion at the end of the day. All they're interested in is massive profit & sod the customers

The new self checkout system is terrible, only two checkouts are manned and they are for cash purchases and exchange/refunds...on a busy day, be prepared to have a wait
Good place for home wear, and some essential stuff, good value for money.
A good choice, although some sizes don't seem to be catered for on a lot of clothing items, but overall a decent experience. Can get very very busy at checkout but remains with just a couple of the many checkouts open which is frustrating but the ones open do get through the queues quite quickly.
