We had a frankly appalling visit to this flagship restaurant two weeks ago. Visiting Newcastle for a theatre show we decided to dine here before the show. Expecting to take about an hour and a half for a two course meal we arrived at 5:30 to find the restaurant fairly quiet, still it took 5 minutes to get seated. No drinks order was taken at the time and it took a good half an hour for our drinks and meal order to be taken, starters arrived about 15 minutes later after we had rejected dirty plates and had to accept plates stil wet from the dishwasher. 1 hour 15 mins after arriving we had still not been served our main meals - all pizzas. Getting worried about missing our show we enquired when our meals would be served and were told it had not been started. Hastily the pizza team fast tracked our pizzas and three arrived, the fourth one a child's margarita arrived without any tomato. We bought this to the attention of the waitress who took it away, some minutes later she returned to explain that that was her fault as she thought the child's margarita on the menu was without tomato!!! The fourth pizza eventually arrived , just in time to be put in a box along with half of another pizza that couldn't be finished and we left the restaurant leaving half of another one behind. We paid by Tesco vouchers and the waitress 'graciously' waived the cost of the drinks. Oh and did I mention there was no toilet roll in either ladies or gents toilets. I understand that sometimes things can go wrong so the following day I retold this tale of woe to Prezzo via their online communication channel hoping that somebody would recognise a problem and do something about it and possibly say sorry for the lack of service . Two weeks later I have heard nothing which is why I feel I should share the experience by way of warning for others who may expect this flagship restaurant to offer high standards of service. The pizza that I eventually got 1 HR and 40 minutes after entering the restaurant, the half I got to eat was of good quality
I had the asparagus and mascarpone panciotti which was amazing!!! was quite a small portion though would've been better if it was bigger. my boyfriend however had the traditional lasagne which was pretty big. staff were really nice and friendly!
Friendly warm service but not speedy especially for a quiet restaurant, it had a nice atomosphere and the decor was modern but welcoming and warm. However food was over priced for what we received. Sauces where bland. Would consider revisiting but defiantly not any time soon.
Service is slow and tables are small. They seem to like trying to fit 4 people on a 2 person table, even when it is empty. Food was nice though!
Regular visitors to Prezzo restaurants but had a poor experience on last visit. Had to wait 45 minutes from ordering food before it was served, and when food came it was very disappointing
Friendly, if slow staff. Waited ages for the bill. Main was a gelatinous mess. Dessert was still frozen.
Not the best. The waitress took my unfinished glass of wine away. She won't be getting a tip.
The pizzas are good. Typical chain-restaurant experience - nothing above and beyond.
First time here. Very friendly staff and excellent food.
Poor staff, took around 3 days to get food and no atmosphere
