A decent premier inn. Location is easy to find and there is plenty of free parking if you’re staying over night. Understaffing is an issue and staff were running between the bar and the check in desk upon our arrival. Issue with room keys or lack off. Staff stated they have an issue with local children entering the property via the back door and taking the keys off the desk. Think they need to invest in some lockable cabinets to combat such issues. Rooms were clean and tidy as you’d expect. Breakfast was buffet style and food was fine. Plenty of choice.
This was a letdown by Premier Inn standards. I arrived on Sunday afternoon to discover a free breakfast promotion I'd booked for my 3-night stay was not going to be recognised as the restaurant was being renovated. Had I known, I'd have stayed elsewhere. For this issue to neither be highlighted in advance on the hotel's website page or mentioned even now is dishonest. I don't blame the staff who have the thankless task of advising guests including those who had actually paid for breakfast. Although complimentary pastries and fruit were provided instead, it was a half-hearted effort.nThe room had no shelving area to put your clothes. I can't recall the last Premier Inn I stayed in where keeping everything on a chair was the sole option.nLastly, the water only drained in the shower a few minutes after you'd got out so you were 'paddling' ahead of visiting the beach.nThe only positive was it was 10 minutes from the train station for convenience.
Service was decent . All else was so so. We had a premier plus room. No heating. They said they would look at it. 3 days and still no heating. Shower mediocre compared so some others. One day they said that 2 cleaners didn't turn up so our rooms probably wouldn't be cleaned premier plus the bar closest after breakfast until 5pm. Must lose a lot of business during that time. And premier plus have to walk outside around the building when bar closes. Why cant they just install shutters at the bar and let people walk through. Waiting area has a coffee machine and hot water, but thats not in use. Also cleaners never refilled the tea and coffee. Alan from Scotland was nice and restaurant girl was very nice . But definitely needs some work and windows cleaned at this hotel.
Great check in with Allan.nHotel ideally located for what we wanted.nTypical Premier Inn room, only one towel which reception quickly sorted. No Shower Gel in the holder in the bath which felt odd.nNight staff were really helpful when I needed a little help.
Myself and my partner stayed for one night. We got above the standard experience for that one night, even in a standard room! The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, making sure right away to tell us that the kitchen was closed for refurbishment and that there was an alternative arrangement for breakfast. We'd seen that ahead of time, so that was fine. By the time others see this, the restaurant may be refurbished. We were given our room key and headed up to our room.nnWhen we got into our room, we were greeted with everything we love about a Premier Inn room - the neatly made, comfy bed, the tidy space, and the clean yet warming décor. There was even a little note on the desk thanking us for staying with them, which I thought was such a sweet little touch. Made me feel so very happy to be back in Wales!nnThe room was up-to-date, including a modern thermostat touch screen! Swanky. and all the mod cons you'd expect for a standard room. The bathroom was clean and had everything we needed to prepare us for the next part of our adventure. I'm really happy with our stay here - we both got a good, restful night's sleep.
