The bed has a comfortable mattress, the duvet was too thick and ended up using the mattress sheet.nnFriendly staff and great location.nnLovely view when the sky is clear over the river.nnVentilation can be quite noisy randomly throughout the night.nnDidn't use the Restaurant or Breakfast deal.
Best mediocre and cheap. Very interesting approach to room service. You have to ask for your room to be serviced which we did on each of the four mornings of our day. On the first day nothing was done the second day the bed was made. Towels were replaced and the coffee cups were washed and replaced. On the third day we got clean towels and one of our two coffee cups was replaced roundabout, with the other one being left full of the drugs of our previous cup of tea! Clearly not been washed as we had tipped out a cup of tea into it and although we had swished it round with water, there were drops of coffee around it. Not cleaned. Bed not made. The shower gel had never been topped up all week and it was empty all week.nBut I reported all of this to the receptionist this morning, she said she would make a note of it and feed it back to whoever. She did however ask me why I haven’t reported that last night. It would’ve been somewhat ineffectual to do so as we were going to bed! I have to add that my travelling companions, for other couples, also experienced all of the above and in some cases had never had their bed made all week! I know it’s not difficult, but it is a hotel after all!
One of Premier Inn's established Hotels and showed signs of regular use. Still very clean and comfortable and our river view room was peaceful and enjoyable.nStaff were helpful and friendly. The Beefeater adjoining was acceptable for breakfast but there are some good restaurants within walking distance for evening meals.
This Premier Inn is just 5 minutes from Dundee station and in a great location overlooking the river and a stone’s throw from the discovery and Dundee V&A.nWe didn’t have a room on that side of the building but that didn’t matter.nWe arrived just after 3pm check in.Two members of staff on reception, one on a computer, the other dealing with a guest. We waited ages without even an acknowledgment of our existence.nThe room itself looked very tired with uneven flooring and only one chair between 2 people. As we were staying for 2 days I asked for another but no response. The base of the bed had a big gap where I assume a pullout bed should have been. There was a big gap where clearly there should have been some furniture.nBed as always comfortable and the bathroom was very clean with fluffy white towels.nThe bath had very high sides so was very difficult to get in and out of. I don’t think that the towel rail will last very long as it’s the only thing to hang onto when getting in and out.nA good number of 3 pin plug sockets but no usb socket.nEvacuation notice on the back of the door did not have a map of emergency exits.
Great location, fab views of Tay, but you need to try get a room with a river view. As ever comfy beds and nice breakfast. Good service, would recommend
