I was having problems with my boiler taking a long time to heat my hot water and radiators. There was always air that need bleeding from the upstairs radiators that were often cold. Everytime I started my boiler up there was a clanging noise and I thought it was going to blow up.
I believed I needed a new boiler until a friend of mine said to get a powerflush. I contacted PPS Powerflushing and I have to admit I was a bit sceptical. The engineer came and took a sample of water which was black and did a lot of tests. He showed me a presentation of how corrosion and problem occur in a central heating system. He said that the water was attacking my radiators and pump and there was a lot of solid that he called magnetite.
He measured all the radiators with a thermometer gun and quickly identified the cold radiator spots and also the ones that had the most black solid.
Well I booked the powerflush which took him nearly all day to do and then added an inhibitor to protect my system. Now not only does my boiler heat up quicker but my radiators are red hot and no cold spots. There are no banging or clunking noises from my boiler, my radiators do not need bleeding. The best thing of all is that now the boiler doesn't have to heat the black sludge that I will save money on my fuel bills which will have paid for the powerflush.

It was money well spent and the engineer was a very friendly , efficient and tidy worker.

If you have problems like mine I would give them a call as the test and survey are free of charge so you have nothing to lose.
