Spoke with a gent named Martin today, he was very personable and professional. It was regarding a bereavement and I must say as basic level empathy and manners can be lacking in some people, it really made a big difference speaking with someone who knew how to give condolence. We have been treated with kindness and understanding and admire how Portsmouth Water are conducting their business 10/10.
Thank you to the community team who checked that my grandmother had enough water to manage during a planned outage. They only expected it to be off for an hour or so but still knocked the door with bottled water if she had needed it. It was very reassuring to know that the Priority register works and helps keep people safe.
What happened to portsmouth Water? This used to be a reliable company that prided itself on good service and customer care. Sadly, those days seem to be long gone, and it all appears to have started going downhill when they outsourced their emergency call center.nnThe quality of service has dropped dramatically. Calling for help during an emergency is now a nightmare. You’re met with long wait times, unhelpful representatives who seem poorly trained and uninformed about local issues, and a general lack of urgency. For a utility service, especially one handling something as vital as drinking water, this is absolutely unacceptable.nnWhat’s even more shocking is that the Drinking Water Inspectorate DWI let this happen. The outsourcing of critical services like emergency response should never have been approved. It raises serious concerns about the oversight and accountability of water companies. The decline in service is not just inconvenient—it’s potentially hazardous when you’re dealing with water supply and quality issues.nnPortsmouth Water’s reputation was built on trust and reliability, and it’s disheartening to see how far it’s fallen. Outsourcing the call center might save money, but it has cost them credibility and customer trust. I hope the management seriously reconsiders their priorities because the current state of affairs is an embarrassment.nnUntil they address these issues, I cannot recommend Portsmouth Water to anyone. It’s disappointing, to say the least, and a far cry from the company they once were.
kept getting emails to pay my bill which would be fab IF I EVER GET ONE!!!! Phoned 4 times lost the will to live waiting, emailed 4 times no response .... finally get to speak to someone who tells me that seeing as I have not paid my bill the pay ever 6 months has been withdrawn .... BUT ITS YOUR FAULT !!! .... Never missed a payment been a bit late now and again SHOCKING service. Gave two stars as lady on phone was nice !!
Reported a leak pouring water down the street from our meter at 8am today and an engineer had repaired the plastic pipe and restored our water supply by 9.30am. Outstanding response and many thanks Portsmouth Water!
