Fantastic campsite just outside Buxton and perfectly placed to explore the peak district you can walk onto the high peak trail from the site! We spent a brilliant 4 nights camped here over the last weekend in August in their non-electric seasonal field. Facilities were excellent and kept in a great clean state by staff. On site vending machine supplies fresh milk which is seriously delicious kids loved the milkshake station next to it!, and they also make their own ice cream with a rotating selection of flavours - crunchy donut was ridiculously tasty! Friendly staff in the shop and reasonably priced for the pitch we used, the site also hires out firepits and has pygmy goats to say hello to! We will definitely be using this site again, the only possible improvement we could suggest is a cut through from the end of the seasonal field to the shop/showers as it was a bit of a walk!
Amazing time camping toilets and showers very clean even when it was busy. The girl who is always at reception was always happy to help no matter what. Had a flat car battery she within minits of me asking she call the farmer over to give me a jump start. Good for family's amazing views.
We came here for 2 nights and it was brilliant...let's go from the start... Upon booking you receive an email with your booking details and site instructions, very easy to follow and handy. When you arrive on site, you have to report to checking in before pitching, this is clearly signed and easy to find. Check in hours are between 0900 and 1830, if you arrive after hours then you check in the following morning settle in on the pitch you booked The site WiFi is free and pretty good, the details of this are on your check in papers. The site is very tidy and well kept, the pitches are plenty big enough for some of the mansion tents with awnings!!! The EHU pitches are layed out so the tent is positioned to the rear left corner of the pitch, with the water point behind the tent and the EHU between you and the next pitch. The facilities here are 5* without doubt. The toilet block and showers are immaculate. The pot wash area is large 6 sinks and clean. There are also washing machines in the pot wash area should you need them. There is a freezer for your ice blocks bag and tag them as good practice and a plethora of information about things to do locally. The Poole's cavern trip is good, the Peak Cavern and speedwell is also superb. There is a milk dispenser on site for fresh milk, it's 50p for 500ml but you will need a container for it. These can be purchased from a vending machine right next to it. There are syrups for the milk to make milkshakes, these are 50p too. The shop on site is small but decent, you can get good ice-cream from there and camping essentials too. For example there are gas regulators, cutlery, toys etc Finally, there are goats on site which are great fun, you can buy food from the shop 50p to feed them, and they provide hours of great fun. I highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be going again
Really lovely campsite with a few features that help it stand out. For starters this place has exceptionally modern and clean toilets and showers, possibly the best I've ever seen on any campsite. My only slight grumble about the facilities being that there weren't enough hooks/shelf's in the gents toilets or showers meaning it could be difficult to stash your gear but other than that minor grip I can't fault the facilities. The site also boasts a pot wash and laundry and a games field. Some pitches have EHU and their own water supply. We stayed on a non-electric pitch in the "secluded" area. It has a fully enclosed dog exercise field which was absolutely brilliant for our energetic and social pup, he loved it and so did we. The site is on a working dairy farm that also makes its own delicious ice cream, which you can buy from the reception. There is a nice picnic area where you can enjoy your ice cream and can also feed the pygmy goats! Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, the first pitch we were allocated was on a substantial slope which our tent wouldn't tolerate but the reception staff soon found us an alternative pitch which was much better. I had initially thought the prices were a little high but having seen the standard of the facilities I think it was worth every penny. We will definitely be going back.
Our third visit here and we will.be back. All the staff are friendly, the shower/toilet blocks always kept really clean. Nice big space for pitches too. Our cocker loved the dog exercise area!
Excellent toilet block and pot washing facilities. Good location for the Tissington trail. Was disappointed that a tent that had almost pitched on a friend of ours caravan pitch was never asked to pitch correctly as per the leaflet given to you on check in. It was like they were in the same tent as them. Noise curfew not enforced either.
The best bueno and oreo ice cream I've tasted! Also beautiful milk home pasteurized. The lady in the shop was lovely too.
Nice caravan park, quiet and nice location for walking the high peak trail 10 mins from Buxton and 20 mins from Ashbourne by car. Small shop onsite selling essentials and ice cream. It's worth buying some goat food and feeding the little goats.
Been coming to this farm site for years but it has improved a lot since the two sons and dad took it over. The toilet/shower block is lovely and clean and ultra modern. The site backs onto part of the Tissington Trail which is a lovely walk. They have goats and sell ice cream and fresh, creamy cows milk. Got some to bring home and it was gorgeous . Be back again next year!!
Yummy ice cream from here, and also warmly greeted by the cute goats
