Nice well run adults only site. As others have said Jan is great, very helpful and knowledgeable. We stayed for 9 nights in a tent on a level grass pitch with its own water tap and bin. The pitch was screened by hedges on three sides and situated towards the back of the site. The shower blocks/toilets are to a high standard and kept spotlessly clean, there is a disabled bathroom too. If I had to find a gripe it would be there is a single goods railway line that runs behind the site, it isn't used heavily but does run during the night as well as the day but the train only trundles along so its not excessively noisy but obviously louder in a tent. Please be aware though, if you are on one of the grass pitches up by the pond it is quite a walk back to the washing up area/utility room. One other thing, we didn't notice a freezer for ice blocks but I may have just missed it. We would recommend this site to others.
Stayed for 4 nights. Was met by Jan on our arrival, who was lovely. I asked if we could put our windbreaker up on the grass area of the pitch so our dogs could relax . Jan was so accommodating and advised us to use our pitch in anyway that made our stay better. Pitches are a good size with hedges, so nice and private. We had a lovely break here and would highly recommend.
Really well run site, Jan was welcoming from the very start and friendly and helpful throughout our two week stay. The site has lovely clean facilities, though the cafe was not yet open again. A lovely relaxed vibe. The plot sizes are massive and yet very private, we found them ideal for us, our motorhome, awning, tow car and our two hounds. Definitely be back.
What a fabulous campsite , lovely and clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful, more importantly, our dogs were as welcome as we were so thank you We were recommended a great country walk and ended it at The Park Inn, where we had drinks and snacks. I really must also recommend The Great Panda who delivered a very tasty Chinese take away which we will definitely order from again when we next visit this Adult only little gem of a campsite. Thank you for a perfect weekend
Just returned from 3 glorious nights here and I have to say this is hands down the nicest site we’ve ever stayed on! Here are just a few reasons why you should check it out 1: the owner, Jan, is lovely she greeted us with a smile and was more than happy for us to put up the awning where we liked on the pitch. This meant we could put it on the grass and protect our dogs sensitive paws 2: the facilities were immaculate, the rain shower looked amazing so in our next trip I’ll definitely be trying that out we showered in the caravan this time! 3: the whole site was so peaceful and relaxing, the hedges are brilliant for privacy. 4: the local area has some great walks not to mention lots of pretty villages 5: there is a pub about a mile away the parks inn which did lovely food at reasonable prices. Next trip we’ll try the curry night for £13 including a pint! 6: to repeat point 1, Jan is lovely and super accomodating. The weather took its toll on my partner who felt very ill on the day we left, Jan provided an electric fan a lifesaver and said we could stay until she felt well enough to leave. She went above and beyond and for that we are so grateful Anyway I’m off to book again for September !
Beautiful, tranquil site. Adult only, fantastic facilities and owners are a joy.
Beautiful, quiet site run by the wonderful Jan. Pitch sizes are massive and very private. Showers immaculate cleaned by a young lady with a lovely singing voice! The ladies loos are bright and have plug points for your hairdryers etc. There is a bus stop just outside the side gate that takes you to Buxton /Bakewell /Matlock Bath etc doggies allowed. Highly recommende and will definitely be back. Thank you!
Very friendly welcome and the owners couldn't do enough to accommodate us their Sunday roast is the best we have had for a long time and the site is fantastic all the pitches are very level with electric and water - the toilets and showers are modern and clean with a good utility room with washing machine and dryer. We will definitely book again for this year and try out the Friday night supper menu - it is the best site we have visited, we think this must be one of the best sites in the UK. Just been again to Clover Fields for 6 nights - 1st week of June 2021 and again a fantastic site we loved it and will definitely be back.
Lovely, well run site. Excellent private pitches each with their own fresh water tap and waste bin. The size of each pitch was very good. Grass and hedging were both well maintained and each pitch waste bin emptied daily. We visited soon after their reopening following Covid 19 closure. The owners had gone above and beyond to ensure visitors were as safe as possible. Plenty of sanitising stations sited around the site which must have cost a lot of money. The toilet blocks were open and were cleaned frequently. It's obvious that the owners clearly care for visitors well being. Overall a superb site to which we will return again.
We spent our honeymoon here and go every year for our anniversary, can’t fault it one bit. Jan and the family run this site spot on. Cafe is excellent, site, showers and toilets are spotless. Great local supplies for fresh meat ,supermarkets etc. We always look forward to this site, and would not contemplate anywhere else in the Peak District.
