It holds the fondest memories of my time as a student here. The single room was spacious and comfortable with en suite washroom and cleaning service every week. The buffet breakfast was wonderful with fresh farm milk, cracked eggs, yogurt and more. Dinner buffet equally diverse with options like lamb, salmon, desserts, and fresh fruit. The common room was spacious and welcoming with a huge sofa, pool table and modern laundry facilities. Beautiful garden and peaceful environment right next to Arthur’s Seat. Couldn’t ask for more for a student accommodation especially at this price.
It was expensive for its value since it was during Fringe. It’s located around 25 min walking from the center, it’s reachable via bus as well. Rooms are small and the campus is huge so the breakfast area was crazy busy. I always had to wait to use the coffee machine - there was a long line. It’s ok for a few nights though you can hear everything from the corridors so maybe not the best option if you’re looking for a deep night sleep.
It's hard to review this place because it is a mixed bag. Pluses are a lovely green campus, great views, and a quiet location that is still close enough to walk to town. Rooms are up to motel 6 standards. The breakfast is good but it is served in a huge cafeteria that is overcrowded and noisy. The downside is the large size of the many many groups that come through here in herds. The Halls accommodate hundreds and hundreds of people who arrive daily in large tour buses. Groups range in age from youngsters to senior citizens. The concept of staff service is non-existent, and the people who work reception are especially clueless. Sometimes hallways are very noisy, with people screaming.The bottom line is despite the many drawbacks, I would be happy to return if I could get an ensuite bath, which is next to impossible.
Basic comfortable accommodation. Clean & tidy. Student room with 2 single beds, shower & toilet Ensuite. Kettle & various tea's & coffee. No fridge or microwave. 2km walk to Edinburgh Castle. Great breakfast options included in price.
I think overall the it’s quite value for money. The location is about 30-40mins walk to royal mile or you can also take the bus which is quite convenient.nnThe room is quite clean and size is good enough for the two of us.nnThere are limited amenities though. We found out that there is no hairdryer provided which is very hard for us.nnThe campus itself is great. Very spacious and it’s near to Arthur Seat.nnBreakfast is great with varieties. Only thing is the hall is just full with crowds and it gets quite overwhelming at times.nnCheck out was easy and we were able to leave our luggage. However, we got a scare as we couldn’t find one of our bag it’s a shopping bag open at the top and to find out someone else put their stuff toiletries, books, cardigans… into my bag!we originally recognise the bag but we couldn’t recognise the things in it so it confused us. We couldn’t figure out why or how this could have happened. The security should have been better… they shouldn’t allow people to get into the room cuz we were told some people went in to put their stuff in earlier which was why this might have happened. Check out time is 1030am and not 12pm as stated in Agoda.
