Great rooms, small but sufficient, and easy to use, exactly as described. The hallways are long and weird. The staff is great and everything is in decent repair and clean enough. A solid place to stay for a good price.
The place is very clean and organized, it's a good option if you are on a budget.nDownside: thin walls so if you get noisy neighbors you'll hear them.nThe pillows are very thin as well.nAnd what got scary a bit is when I was in bed at night another person was able to open the door to my room with their key.
Checked into this place and they wanted to charge for bag storage – I half expected them to ask for a fee if I dared to breathe their air! And towels? Oh, they're a luxury item here. £5 please. I'm not sure they have 'taken on board' any feedback, despite their responses on here to the many negative reviews. If you fancy a night sleeping on a paper thin mattress, and pillows seemingly stolen from a dollhouse, then this is the spot for you!
On arrival they tried charging 5 pound per bag to leave it as check in wasn’t till 1500hrs. The room smelt unclean and was uncomfortably hot. There was no towels and you had to pay for them as well as leave a £20 deposit if you wanted a fan. The bed was like cardboard.nnThen before check out someone knocked on the door claiming they were house keeping. When I responded saying check out was not till 10 am they said yes I know can I leave something in your room. Particularly concerning as staff had no idea who this was when we reported it.nnConsidering it was over a £150 pound a night I would not recommend. An actual youth hostel probably would be nicer.nnIn regards to reply it definitely was not a misguided guest as it was only me and my friend in our room. They also knocked on the door and told us they were house keeping clearly someone who had a motive to try and get access to me and my friend.
I stayed here this weekend for 2 nights and can safely say I’m overall pleased with my experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are available at all times to welcome and assist you when necessary. The room itself was decent, baring in mind it is accommodation not a hotel! The location of the place is exceptional for the price so 5 stars here… one flaw for me was that the mattress is quite hard and uncomfortable, though the shower is fantastic. The bathroom light was automatic and so couldn’t be turned off in the night and a bedside lamp wouldn’t go amiss. Other than that, everything else, including the communal kitchen was fab. Would stay here again for a short stay.
