Great bakery in the high street with really good products. The pies are amazing, very yummy and you can't stop eating them. They have so many other products that they look great also. Big and quality. They also have cream tea to take away, drinks and more good options. Nice service and there wasn't any queue when we did our order.
Honestly one of the best Cornish Pasty that I have tried. I ordered the Standard Steak. It was around £4-5. It was spectacular. The filling was amazing. But the real winner was the bread. It was good and flaky. It was the first time that I was also able to finish the sides which I don’t normally eat. That’s how good the bread of this pasty was.
Sadly I didn’t have the great experience of other reviewers. Mostly down to the staff. I was curious to know the ingredients of the vegan pasty and specifically the fat used. Something natural or something artificial like in cheap mass produced pasty? They couldn’t tell me as “fat isn’t an allergen” and “we don’t know the ingredients, that’s not our job, sorry”. Eh, what? Don’t know the ingredients! how can that be?! Poor show really. The pasty was tasty btw, just slightly ruined by poor staff knowledge.
I bought 2 standard steak pasties Sunday 17June, delicious. I bought 2 today, Thursday at 12o'clock I was so disappointed! They were already in a bag, the pastry was too salty and crimped differently and the crust was hard. Reheated?Food: 3/5
On the hunt for the best pasties we could find while in Cornwall and this place did not disappoint. Friendly service and the most delicious pasties. We had the steak and cheese 2 days in a row as one was just not enough. It was a rather miserable day outside but sat in my car eating one of these was absolute heaven!Food: 5/5
Stopped into the marazion shop late on NY Day afternoon, not only did they have pasties we were braced for just cake but they had a choice, including vegan and vegetable pasty with no oddities added to make up for lack of steak. Chocolate doughnuts were a BIG hit with the kids, rhubarb slices with adults. Does seem unfair the lovely ladies don't get seasonal time off but we were grateful they didn't! Vegetarian options: Cheese and veg pasty, vegan pasty or vegan sausage roll all pretty good. Also the cake.
NOT AS EXPECTED I’ve tried this for first time ever but it was not that much good for me. It was soft undoubtedly but the taste was not much good. I would like to suggest to the restaurant to add some more spice especially for people from India or Asia because we like more spicy or you can made another category of pastry which will have more spice. Overall the taste was ok but it was very soft which is good.
We were recommended this place for Cornish pasties and didn't have any cause to regret it. Very close to St Michaels mount, friendly staff, quick service and hot, well made pasties. Loved everything about it - the pastry case, filling and flavour. One of those kept me full for a long time and after trying pasties from many other places, I can safely say that Philps was my favourite.
Absolutely amazing Cornish Pasty. I had the steak and cheese and my wife the flakey steak. Both pasties were incredible, served at the right temperature for eating on the hoof. So filling we didn't eat for the rest of the day
Great pasties, variety is brilliant, had them ever since I was a kid on holidays and it's still tradition now I'm much older!! Perfect place to sit and eat my pasty :
