Story

Opened in 2013, Peyote is a modern Mexican restaurant, bar and lounge located in the heart of Mayfair. Since it’s inception, Peyote has worked with some of Mexico’s finest chefs, most recently Eduardo Garcia, to create a unique and refined interpretation of Mexican cuisine. The menu includes traditional and regional favourites such as tacos, tostados, laminados and quesadillas, all beautifull crafted and expertly balanced in a contemporary way. There are also ceviches, sharing plates and main course dishes and every part of the menu uses the very best and most seasonal produce available. The sourcing has been carefully considered and much of the kitchen’s delivery comes from in and around the British Isles. However, the more complex and specialist ingredients that Mexican cooking requires are proficiently sourced from Mexico. The varied menu is complemented by a broad selection of tequila and mescal, eye-opening cocktails and a select wine list. Peyote offers a multi-sensory experience bursting with flavour and originality.

Peyote is the colloquial name for a small cactus (Lophophora williamsii), native to the Chihuahuan desert. Known for its psychoactive properties when ingested, peyote has a long history of ritualistic and medicinal use in Mexico.
