Pets at Home Dewsbury

So I first came because of a rash on Myla’s stomach and ear. Myla already has minor anxiety so can take time to get used to new people and places. We entered the room with treats ready hoping to calm her and show her it’s alright learning her for the future. All he did was scare her following her around the room persistently when she was clearly already in distress. He then proceeded anyway while I was in the middle of trying to hold her so he could check her but as she struggled he accused her of trying to bite him... with no warning or even a noise and from open mouth? I didn’t really know what to say at that point just lost all confidence their knowledge I just wanted to leave. After sat for 5 minutes I was finally over charged and eventually left. Only registered because I thought taking her to the toy/treat bit regularly would make it a better time for her when using the vets. How wrong was I Will be lucky if she doesn’t have problems when I take her to a proper vet. Who wouldn’t treat this lady with the love and care she deserves!! Never going back!! Just for context she is 11 months old.

Bought some tropical fish. One was dead in the bag before it got home. Two more died in the next couple of days. I have kept fish for going on 45 years and I hardly lose any established fish. Not impressed with the quality.

Visited 30/001/21' to purchase a hamster. Got a lovely lil chap who is loving his new home. Have not named him yet as going to give a few days to settle in properly and see if he gives any clues to name him.

I brought my dog to be groomed to the Dewsbury store Monday 5 th September. The groomer only completed half of the groom as she said my dog was trying to bite her. My dog has never shown any type of aggressive tendencies towards anyone or anything, he is the most gentlest boy imaginable. In trying to trouble shoot the problem I asked if I could help- she did not agree to this. I asked if another member of staff could help her- she said there was no one available. The groomer admitted that she was nervous of dogs, I thereofe feel she as a professional failed in her duties. She inconvenienced me and probably traumatised my dog due to her lack of skills. I will not be coming here again. We put so much trust in strangers to care for our babies in the time that it takes for them to be groomed and she let me down and let my dog down. In my opinion she is in the wrong job, she should at the very least not be left on her own with the dogs and furthermore she clearly needs more training.

If ever I had to give someone a two star review then this was the one. This is in no way a review of the in house vet but a review of the retail side of the business. Zero marks in Customer Service Zero marks in eye contact Zero marks in conversation Zero marks in even acknowledging that there are customers around Zero marks in smiles on faces If you want a place that has a morbid atmosphere at the tills then look no further - this is it....

My dog jack idea of heaven... Lovely helpful staff, who seem to care about what they do.

Had a browse around, looked at the pets they had in. All so adorable!
