“Disappointed with Pets at Home Groomers – Not Suitable for Larger Dogs”nnI took my 6-month-old German Shepherd to Pets at Home Groomers today for a full groom, which was supposed to include a bath, nail trimming, and eye/ear cleaning. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory, and I’m extremely disappointed with their handling of larger breeds.nnMy dog came back more stressed and aggressive than I’ve ever seen him, almost as if he hadn’t been treated kindly during the session. He was visibly distressed and unable to settle, which is completely out of character for him.nnI was told the groomers backed off from him because he was growling, barking, and getting nippy, but surely a professional groomer should be equipped to handle such behavior in young dogs. They could have used a muzzle or spent more time bonding with him to calm him down. Instead, they only bathed and dried him in the 50 minutes they had him, leaving the rest of the services incomplete.nnThis isn’t the first time I’ve had issues here. I previously brought in another dog and experienced the same poor handling and lack of care. It’s clear this groomer is not equipped to deal with larger breeds, despite offering services for all dogs.nnI will no longer be using their services, and I strongly recommend Pets at Home Groomers update their advertising to reflect that they specialize in small dogs. Larger breeds deserve groomers who are patient, experienced, and prepared to handle the challenges that come with working with bigger dogs.

Been in here a couple of times since bringing my new Rescue dog home. He's a bit anxious and the staff in here have been incredibly patient with him. Always on hand with a treat and something to clean up any mess he makes. The grooming staff are amazing too and they made some excellent recommendations for his training. Crawley is probably my closest store but the car park, layout and attitude of the staff is 10 times better at Burgess Hill so I will gladly go out of my way to go there instead.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone at Vets for Pets in Burgess Hill. I stopped by this morning and was genuinely grateful for the warm and welcoming receptionist . It makes such a difference to have such kind and helpful staff, and I truly appreciate it.nnThank you all for your outstanding service!

I love pets at home in general, but I would be wary of the vets. They have outdated practices and are giving vaccines on the same dates to invalid the vaccinations. This means you can't go anywhere else to get an AHC to travel and you have to come back to this vets to get one, as they hide part of the information to write one. Overall it feels incredibly dodgy , and if you only find out much later down the line they ask you for more money to fix their problem.nnAdvice for customers - ASK ASK ASK. Be that annoying customer, make sure you know what they're doing, why they're doing it, what vaccine it is.nnAdvice for staff - Research. Being told you didn't know about it over the phone is a lie and a big problem

Very friendly staff and always happy to engage with your furry friends. Really good selection of food, clothing and reptile/aquatic needs.
