A nice place to try good food and drinks. Prices are high but food is good. Has a great view of Thames river and other attraction
Stopped for drinks after visiting Superbloom at the Tower. Lovely staff, nice selection of unusual cocktails, ideal for a lunch stop. Loved the seating in the ‘outdoor space’ with great view of the bridge.
Stay Away! They have reopened as The Reveller for High Tea and it’s 45£ Per personJune 2022. You would think it would be something special for that price but it was very disappointing. Dry stale sandwiches. Scones were what you might get on a cheep flight and the sweets were not even worth eating. Another couple was there and they were also complaining about how poor the quality was and they ended up being the highlight of this experience. We had a nice visit and laughed about how terrible it was. At the end of this clever high tea scam they took the liberty in adding a 10£ services fee just to add insult to injury.
We ordered the fish n chips. Fish was delicate and tasty. A bit oily, but tasty. The chips taste like they've been under a heat lamp. We also ordered bangers and mash, but the mash was too starchy. The bangers were, just ok. A bit pricey too, but you must consider it is at the base of the bridge and the fort. The staff wasn't with it. They lagged a bit. The Manager stepped in and provided us with better service.
Entry under London bridge. Visited for an event. Nice outside space. Good setting but it's a bit of an afterthought in terms of integration to the tower of London.
Visited at 7pm. Was greeted with a smile which was very welcoming. I ordered a drink at the bar and then decided to eat some food. I ate the beef pie see picture. It was very tasty and had lots of big pieces of beef :. I then had the chocolate torte for dessert. Food quality was good overall but I would like the portions to be a bit bigger... But then I am greedy. I saw some other reviews about bad service but I thought it was great.
Having had a vegan afternoon tea booked here for several months, upon arrival I was told that there was no vegan option and that the order taken was for a vegetarian! Nothing available for me today. Unbelievable in this day and age. Give it a miss.
This place has reopened as a “pop up” and their first day was June 9th. As we walked by to go to the Tower of London we were invited in for an afternoon tea at a cost of £39.80 instead of the usual £45 as an opening day special. The price was per person and included a glass of Prosecco so we decided to give it a go. The space was very sparse and concrete with maybe 10 tables and only 2 of them had guests. The sandwiches were dry, the cakes and tarts were dry and all covered in purple icing for the platinum jubilee no doubt but was very very sweet. We left most of them on the tray at the end. The scones were the only good thing offered- delicious. The service was pretty much non existent. There were several staff standing behind a counter and none of them cared to offer a refill of tea while our server seemed to be missing. Another local couple sitting next to us were apologizing that this isn’t a good representation of afternoon tea in England we are visiting from Canada and this was our first experience To make it all worse after we got up and found someone to take our money for the bill, they added an automatic £9 service charge!! What service? We let them know we were disappointed by the food and our first experience but they just responded that this was a pop up afternoon tea and we were walk in customers, if we wanted better we could go somewhere like the Ritz that specializes in afternoon tea… What a rip. Don’t let the charm of the area persuade you. I would give it zero stars if it were an option. PS. We are Canadian, this is as polite as we can be with the experience we had.
Contrary to the last two reviews of the Afternoon Tea at The Perkin Reveller, a friend and I had the Tea on 20th July and thought it first-class! We had enjoyed an hour's stroll around Superbloom and then indulged in our Tea at 2pm. We had a corner spot outside under a canopy with comfortable sofas and wicker chairs. The service was courteous and efficient. The sandwiches were fresh, there were two scones each, fruit and plain, with clotted cream and raspberry jam and three delicious cakes each, with Jubilee decoration. We had a glass of bubbles and Earl Grey tea and very much enjoyed the whole offering. Do not be put off by the previous reviews - our experience was very different - satisfying and worthwhile!!!
With the tiny appetizers that can only feed 1, maybe 2 small people, and the fact that they take so long for the main dishes, you end up ordering a good amount of food. Even then, the main dishes are not the expected size. BEWARE THE FISH AND CHIPS! Although tasty, after taking a bite, I pulled 5 bones from my mouth. Was not hungry enough to labor through the rest of the fish. After a family member was able to pick through half of the fish, we counted 10 bones. On the other hand, the man at the door was very nice and accommodating. He gave us 6 out of 7 drinks for free in compenasation for the fish. Can't say the same for the waitresses who paused their combo to watch me walk in, and continued to chitchat and left me to wait another 10 minutes instead of seating me to the half-empty house.
