I had a sliding patio door fitted in March 2022. The standard of fitting was awful and despite a formal complaint and countless phone calls , emails and a personal visit to their offices, Pennine have yet to do anything to address the issues. It is clear from my conversations with various members of staff that the firm is in absolute chaos with senior staff coming and going on a regular basis. I would strongly encourage anyone considering a purchase from Pennine to go with a company who cares about their customers as this firm clearly do not.
What an appalling company! Lied to by the salesperson on how good aftersales care was, surveyor did not measure up correctly therefore windows installed badly, manufacture of windows also faulty - a 3 panelled window had 2 similar and 1 completely different, a door was faulty on installation, initial fitters were very quick but not very good quality as others had to come and refit, the fitters were often arriving without all the fittings necessary to complete the work. Despite phone calls and emails galore they were very slow in responding to anything. Installations Manager Dave Hilden gave me a cheque if I signed a completion notice with the promise that work would be finished quickly, a big mistake on my behalf. A number of messages were left for individuals Michael Clark to call me back regarding the outstanding work but no calls ever came back. A written complaint was finally acknowledged by Stevie Scott, Head of Customer Experience!!!!, who stated he would reply within 14 working days as per their policy on the website. One month later I have heard nothing. A company to avoid at all costs, not to be trusted to organise a party in a brewery!
Absolutely diabolical after sales service. Pennine sent a terrible plasterer to finish the conservatory job and the wall is still badly cracked. The roof end caps haven’t been finished off. This is despite calling and emailing them several times to resolve amicably. Now the director is ignoring me. This is a case of a once reputable business taking on too many jobs and not being able to fulfil their promise. I’ve refrained from going public but now it’s the only way to get their attention. We paid a premium as we invested in ‘trust’. This no longer applies to them. Seeking legal action, would anyone else be willing to join together as a group to challenge this company?
Absolute joke of a company definitely living off their previous reputation. Build work was so unorganized and there was zero communication from the project manager. The quality has not been great and they left it unfinished. NOTE do not sign the finance agreementeven if they say your contract states it has to be signed when the building is watertight until they have finished snags as they will not finish them. Deposit paid Jan, work still not finished. Tradesman was booked for 22nd December however they have allocated him to another job probably so that they can get someone else to sign the finance. As you can see from when the screeding was done not actually watertight. Also they don't like finishing the trims etc as it requires a little bit of trade skill and they are using the cheapest contractors
Avoid - guarantee is not worth the stress of using Pennine Avoid using Pennine if you can. They are unable to keep any promises they make. A job which was down to take 2 weeks took a year to complete and only with us having to consistently remind them that they had not finished the work and having to call up constantly. On site work is messy and does not follow construction safety protocols and we had to clear up a lot of mess left after the works. Their after care is appalling as we have had multiple cancelled appointments that we were not informed were to be cancelled. It has taken nearly a year since reporting defects in glazing and they have not fixed the issue. A very poorly managed company that does well on sales with the promise of a 20 year guarantee. Sadly this guarantee is virtually worthless and would recommend any potential customer to request sight of a copy of its terms, should that be a selling point.
Absolutely shocking company they have left my parents house in a right mess, broken windows holes in walls just awful it has took them 4 days to fit 4 windows and 1 door and it's still not finished, they tried to bully my parents into pressing the ok button so they could get paid and they are know where near finished.
Just a pity that I did not read the reviews before getting the conservatory built. On the 17 January 2016 the construction was completed. Great. Everything went like clockwork. Two months later a water leak from the roof. Nearly SEVEN years have Dec 2022 passed I’m very hopeful that this visit will be the last time that I will need to try and get someone from Pennine to come out. There must of been at least 15 visits from the aftercare team over the years. If I were to forget the leak which I can’t I’m more than pleased with the conservatory
Fantastic from start to finish even in a pandemic! From survey to fitting everything was as expected if not better. The cost was also better than expected, needed a lintel above one of the upper windows so scaffolding was also required. All done at no extra charge. The lads fitting it all were great and left my house as if they’d never been. I would recommend this company for new windows at no hesitation. Thanks Pennine!
I had Pennine windows installed 22 years ago and they were brilliant. Great service, product and aftercare. I wish I could say the same after choosing them for my new house. I've got significant problems with the glazing units not being secured into the frames so there's a constant draught and horrendous noise when it's windy. It genuinely fees like the windows will fall out. I've lost count of how many times I've been promised that the aftercare team will repair the issues but it's now reached the point that phone calls and emails don't get answered. I suspect they'll be out of business very shortly. There are many great window companies, this is not one of them... stay well clear.
Absolutely shocking service! Do not use this company!! We had an extension done over a year ago and still waiting for them to fit the right gaskets in our windows. Pennine is a total joke you can't get through to the customer service and no such thing as a after care team. The whole process has been a joke we have been left seeking legal advice regards to the uncomplete work and its scandalous professionals would fit the wrong gaskets in the first place. We have had nothing but problems, shocking from start to finish! Total ripoff
